AoC? Boring after starter island, didn't feel like going back to the game. So bad the lead dev quit.
A trend there? Dunno. Maybe the new guy will make this game work, but I'm not that interested in it.

TSW will be levelless and classless MMO, non-gear-oriented as well, we get to really create the characters we want with the look we want, with the skills we want. The story happens in our modern world, there are factions out there who know the end of the world is coming in 2012. There will be creepy monsters in our world and dark forces we fight, we will be able to travel in our world, to go into other worlds and travel through time as well. We get into one of the factions and our tasks is to save the word, but each faction has its own goals/agendas and philosophies as well that clash with the others that may cause to fight between factions sometimes. The MMO will be very storyline driven, and the guy behind it is Ragnar Tornquist who made The Longuest Journey and Dreamfall (I've never played these games). It will be a mix of mystery / investigation / action / supernatural / horror MMO that mixes urban legends, numerous mythologies and what has been done before (novels (Lovecraft, Poe, etc.), movies, etc.) wrapped into one.

I want stuff that will shake up the system.
Ex. Planetside was the start of the shooter/sci-fi MMO genre, which led to other MMO games like Tabula Rasa and Warhammer 40k. Eve is the perfect space exploration game, inspiring new stuff like Jumpgate and Infinity.
And this is a great chance to be another unique new game that will take the MMO world in a new direction.

World of Darkness by White Wolf, Harry Potter, Vampire series like True Blood (not Twilight)...
it's all about how it's implemented, but the trailer is good, it gets your attention. Hopefully Funcom learns from Conan, and makes a decent launch this time.

Dreamfall Chapters together with seeing any trace of April Ryan, Lady Alvane, The Fringe Cafe or closure for The Longest Journey in the next 5 years is something so unlikely to happen as the chances that Roper Clacks will be featured in GW2.

It a pretty unique concept for a game, and they have plenty of lore to build on. That sells the idea to me. I don't mind the magic/monsters fantasy element at all, but I hope they try to put across some of the actual history. You can't get writers who will invent something as good.
Funcom have had their bumps before, but they have learned a lot and reshaped their company with AoC. I'd be willing to give them another shot.

TSW won't have levels or classes, I said so in my post "classless and levelless". Therefore, there won't be a max level to reach.

NOW I am interested in it.

So the only thing the game really has is the storyline, the quests...so once you've beaten them ther's really nothing left, is there? :O

And? Sounds similar to GW that is not gear oriented, where you reach max level pretty fast with max armor and where there is a storyline with quests. Yet 4 years old later and some are still playing it. Heck, that is why I love GW in the first place, and enjoyed the other non gear MMO CoV as well. We still don't know enough about TSW yet. I know there will be PvP betwen factions in some other world fighting over a ressource called "anima" as well. I'm sure of one thing, more I hear new informations about the game, more I want to play it.

That can be said about any content.
And if you play gear game, one realization is game-breaker:
If you just want till next expansion/patch, ordinary kill-10-rats quest will give you better gear that the one you spend endless nights of hardcore raiding to get. You can as well just wait a while not playing and it will make no difference. And if, by any chance that does not happen, you will still throw away all your gear once you start raiding new content. Tier replacement and whatnot.
See, in order to make new content relevant as far as gearing is considered, inflation has to happen, and that kills any point of obtaining it right now.
So, unless you like to play for content that is not phat lewts, there is just no point.

The way they originally made the game known was rather brilliant imo, in the form of puzzles scattered all around the internet gaming sites. Unfortunately I wasn't there right from the start so missed most of the puzzle solvings. Atleast so far, hope there will be some more to come still.
Anyway it will most likely be the 2nd mmo I'll keep my eye on, together with GW2 of course.
