I've been looking for information about this but I haven't been able to find any. During the 2nd BWE I noticed I had no sound, no music,no voiceovers,no effects not a peep. It's not my sound card or my headphones because I could hear my guild on TeamSpeak. Even now with no Teamspeak on I go to the log in screen and no music. Do I need to re-download the client. mind you this just started this past BWE during the first one and the stress test everything was fine.

had you see the options? was the volume on minimum?
I also listened to some of the gw1 music in gw2, was it a bug?

Could just be that you have multiple audio devices, for example, usb headset and standard audio jacks at the back of your computer. TS was using the headset and GW2 was trying to output the sound through the onboard audio.

Well, I had sound.. but I noticed some layers of sound were missing. Like occasionally (or the whole time?) certain sounds weren't working whilst others were. Only happened to me this past BWE as well, so maybe a client re-dl is in order, or a potential fix by the next.

Try running both GW2 and TS "as administrator".

If you changed from speakers to headphones (or the other way around) while the game was launched you won't be able to hear sound from the game. You have to shut down the game before you switch. It was the same with GW and I've noticed it on GW2 as well.

Only if your headphones are recognized as another device, i.e. a USB headset or soundcard vs onboard. If you plug the headphones into the front panel audio jack for example and the speakers are driven by the onboard, everything will switch to the headphones.

Thanks to everyone who answered. First off the only way I listen to anything on my computer is thru the headphones, the speakers aren't on at all. The sound levels (I checked again just to be sure) are in the middle. And just now ran game(okay the login screen) "as administrator" and still nothing. I a whim I decieded(sp) to see if GW1 had problems and nope the trumpets were loud and clear. Maybe I'll have to reinstall the client,it's not like it will take forever and tomorrow is the next beta.
