It might be entertaining to join NPC guilds.
The NPC guild would give rewards to players for the amount of influence they have generated for the guild.

Like joining the Guards.
where when I work hard enough at defending the the keeps and homesteads against guard enemies I earn influence for the guards.
this gives me guard guild armor pieces and such.

not to distract from the player guilds but to add possible RP elements and solo guild play.
