ANET mentioned that they are working on a feature that will allow you to chat with guild mates that are playing in game, outside from the web.  So if you are away from your rig, you can chat it up with your guildies that might be playing the game.

Would you use this feature?  Yes or No?

Ye for sure :p

Hmm... now a day you can really check the internet from your phone, maybe this will be used instead of texting each other (prob. free too ;))

This would be a great addition to the game.  An iPhone/Android app to do this as well would be the icing on the cake.  Could plan GvGs with this for a particular night, even if you were away.  I'm on campus nearly all day, so this would be a huge boon for me.

I think this is great. I still go to school (thats what you get when you're a study-nerd i guess) so its nice to chat with guildy's via a web browser. I just wonder one thing

Will it be a general web access on the website of GW.
OR
Will we able to embed this tool on our own clanwebsite.

I don't really care either way... but since i'm building our new Guild-website, i was wondering :D

Yes I'd use it, sounds great in fact.  My guildies and I won't always be on GW2 at the same time and have made a pact(wow that sounds a bit serious) not to advance the storyline without each other so to be able to organise outside of the game would be brilliant.

Or perhaps a spiffy iphone app as well?

But yeh, definitely think this is awesome on Anet's part. Will allow me to better communicate with my guild mates in case or just see what's going on if i'm away. Will use this feature for sure :)

Probably wouldn't access it from my cellphone, but hey, while I'm writing stuff for my studies, having a browser window open with a webchat is like 500 times more likely than having a game client running just to be able to chat.

If it's on the web you can access it from your iphone.

I would definitely use it, but web security is crucial here.

As soon as you take an in-game element, and put it out there on the web, it becomes risky business. You give up some of the control that you have in a closed/sandbox game environment.

sparingly. I have my laptop with me always so I'll just shoot the game itself up. could be useful for mobile browsers tho

this is by far one of the greatest ideas ever, i will waste so much time at school doin this instead of HW or studying.

I'd also like to see a built in VoIP feature for when your in groups and if your not in a group your defaulted to legion VoIP channel, or something similar.

Why is that? Given it's 3-tiered at least - it's full control. If one don't want the game password to be shared, there can be an option to set a separate password to web services. Tons of methods to make it pretty much secure.

Because you have a database that is accessible from outside (read and write) and is connected to the game database in some way. And that's never a good thing. :)

You should add an option: Depends on the guild I'm in.

Yes, with this ^^^ caveat. There are only 3 or 4 mega cool peeps left in my guild/alliance. Maybe if some of the Old Ones return ingame in GW2 I'd drop in to say what up.

Nope. Will use a voice chat system, as guild chat kind of sux, and I don't wanna be into GW all my time awoken.

I think this would be useful say if you were in game and some guild members were out of game and this let you get a hold of them when they would otherwise be unavailable.

Also, hopefully this idea would carry over to your friend list or the GW2 equivalent.

Guilds won't be tied to an account, but to a character, so I guess there's no need for that option, :p

OT: Yes, absolutely. Sometimes I'm not in the mood of playing or I'm just far away from my computer that runs GW2, and keeping in touch with our guildies is a must sometimes :D

Yes, I would. I could discuss things outside the client with the other lorists if one of my characters were in the lore guild.

But I'm 100% sure that I would use it in other guilds as well - as it was confirmed that guilds are character and not account-based.

What would be great is a widget to add to guild forums where people online on the forums can chat with people in game.
