Possibly a New Sale elsewhere, but not as good as this one. . . Read the moderator reply on Page 2 before deciding

---Update: GMG have run out of NA Beta Keys and is offering refunds for those who didn't get one
---Update2: Possibly Expired Early. . . GMG has removed both copies of GW:2 from their site!
---Update3: EU Players still may be able to get the deal, but I will be unable to confirm

For anyone still on the fence or waiting for a sale:
Greenmangaming.com is offering a 25% off voucher code for everything in their store from now till 1100 UTC July 9th 2012

This includes Guild Wars:2 and it's pre purchase bonuses. . .
Just enter the voucher code "25OFF-ALLTH-EGAME" during the first step of checkout to receive the discount

Greenman Gaming always seems to wait until after I've preordered something to offer a ridiculous prepurchase sale on it.

Thanks for the heads up!  Totally spreading the word to my friends.  Hopefully, this will be a good enough incentive to nudge some of them off that cursed fence!

Sigh.............................I hate it when they do this.
After 2 BWE's they decide to make a super deal, price goes down to like 33 quid and 47 for the deluxe.

Pitty can't delete my account, unlink it, get refund, buy this, re-link.... :qq:

They are lagit. They are a offical retailer. They are likely taking a hit to make up in volume or marketing.

Is it because this is EU that I don't remember ever hearing about this website. I work with digital services at another VG company and we deal with several digital distributors world-wide. Why does my gut not feel right about such a website? Are there a lot on GW2G using 'Green Man Gaming'? Is it trusted? What's with "The code included with this pre-purchase is redeemable at: https://register.guildwars2.com." ?

Caveat emptor.

Oh okay, it's on Anet's list? that's pretty legit in my book. :V it just HAPPENS TO BE AT THE BOTTOM! =] We've got a few days here to figure this out. I need another copy of GW2 for the girlfriend so... I'll hawk this thread.

Region blocking. You only see that if your IP is in the "wrong" region. Greenmangaming isn't selling the game in Asia for example. Pretty damn annoying when their region block is stricter than Anet's.

Golem Rider:

Yeah unfortunately I'm going to guess that something like 93% of the people that will read this already have purchased the game for the BWEs

Only lame dudes like me that haven't actually gotten it yet or people looking to get another copy for family/friend can take advantage

Vanguard Scout:

GMG is very legit and gets linked to all the time on deal forums

This is my first time using GMG, but the voucher worked and got my registration key <1 min after purchase

Linked my account at the official page and have been installing the client (currently at 11%)

So basically, being in the US of 'merica, I wont be able to purchase and use GMG to purchase a NA(US) GW2 copy. Am I catching your drift? People always try to work-around with EU or paypal billing, but something tells me a lock somewhere will impede game-play at some point.

Considering that GMG is listed on the official GW2 pre-purchase retailers under "North America" (in addition to "Digital"), you should be able to use them to purchase a NA/US copy of the game.

EDIT - Both of the links in the OP are for the NA version of the game.  So you CAN use GMG to purchase the NA version of the game if you're a US customer.  Based on the discussion above, it appears the GMG region lock for purchases is for Asia.

Also, I wanted to buy this for two friends who live in Europe. I live in the states so I am seeing the NA version obviously. If I just purchased that version for them will they have any problems making accounts or playing later?

If your card / card info is fine then maybe try another browser

One person even used the built in browser that Steam provides when nothing else he/she tried worked

Wow. . . the game is still installing. . .

This client is huge!

What a deal, this has practically made me want to pre-purchase before the last BWE. One concern/question though...I already have a beta account from BWE1 (I got a PAX key and made an account with it)..if I purchase this from GMG, is there a way to upgrade my existing account without having to create a new one?

Repped +4 for fellow Slickdealer!

Edit:
Greenman Gaming is in the UK but they're legit so no worries.

Someone posted in the wikipost at the deal forum thread you linked to:

Quote

North America:
Note about declined cards and paypal: For declined credit cards, make sure you check the reason behind why it was declined, it should say somewhere on the GMG website whether it was declined by them or your bank. If it was declined by the bank, theres a high chance your bank may believe GMG is an overseas online gambling website and will decline purchase attempts from them unless you call it in prior to the purchase.
for declined paypal: They only accept Verified Paypal accounts now.

And from another poster:

Quote

Yep, Visa doesn't like it when you purchase things from foreign companies. I've only had issues with them thus far. It's a nice security measure though, makes me feel slightly safer knowing that they will call and e-mail the shit out of cardholders when the card is used abroad.

I've tried firefox, chrome, and just now the steam browser. Still no luck. I suppose I'll try again tomorrow.

Does anyone know abut the second part of my last post?

Is my copy of Guild Wars 2 tied to my region?

Yes. To play from North America you must purchase a North American copy of the game. To play from Europe you must purchase a European copy of the game. Note that this restriction impacts where you can play from, not which game worlds you can choose to play on.

By purchasing the correct copy of the game, you're supporting the game in your country, and you'll be connecting to your local data center, using your local customer support team, and downloading the correct language support for your country.

You should be allowed to upgrade just by registering another key to your account off of the official page

The Game's FAQ talks a little bit about it if you scroll down a little farthre to the Prepurchase Section

---

Fumble:

I'm not too sure, but I woudln't sit around and wait

Kula suggestion posted right above your last reply seems worth investigating

You could also shoot GMG a request in the hopes of getting a response yet today

A faster route though might be to get a friend in town to make payment and just pay them back right away
(GMG gives you an option to NOT SAVE the payment info so having a friend get it for you under your account shouldn't be an issue)
