What profession brings you the most fun, with what weapon-sets and what playstyle and why?

(If possible, please add a poll, I can't seem to find an option to do so)

tried 4 classes so far

Engineer and Elementalist are blast to play lot of tweaking

Warrior is simple to play so not much fun

Thief is just horrible in both PvP and PvE it is basically a one button spaming to be most efficient

I tried all the classes, and so far - for me - I found the Guardian most pleasing. I had anticipated the Elementalist, but I found that it lacked a lot of control skills, and was very dps focused. I found that I enjoyed the diverse range of the Guardians skills - ranging from pure dps, to conditions, to aoe protects, to reflects, to knockdowns, to melee and finally to aoe regens and the like.

I played with the scepter/shield setup mainly, for the long range and immobilizing skills to support other players, and the shield gave me a knock-back and protecting circle and an aoe buff. It was really fun to see the way that I could use both to both support others and myself throughout the betas. My second weapon set shifted between the greatsword due to the ability to "chain" mobs and pull them towards me, and then aoe them to death, and then the sword/torch for pure and delicious dps.

Also, the utility skills "Sanctum" is just so very good. <3

necromancer for me, fun to watch 4-5 people pound on me while I get close to dying about 10 times and never go down

For me it is a longbow ranger. I enjoy all of the required micromanagement, especially when there are 3+ monsters attacking at the same time.

I'm not sure there is an answer to that question...It's just too subjective (at least if you want a wider look at it).

I like necro. Scepter/axe in main hand and warhorn/dagger in offhand. I stay in 'safe' distance and send minions ahead :) They are lovely. Also death shroud is useful to survive longer or flee away

As for mentioned earlier thief - I like it although he definitely lacks something. Last beta I played it with sword/dagger in main hand and dagger/pistol in offhand. I especially liked that part of showing yourself right in front of enemy and then *puff* you are no longer there! He is very mobile. Although I rarely used 'steal' I think thief is fun to play.

(if I say a/b in mainhand and x/y in offhand -> I mean I'm still not decided if it will be a+x or a+y or b+x, etc...)

In PvE, I've enjoyed Thief and Warrior the most so far. I like the diversity of weapons with the warrior and simply going in and fighting toe to toe- and when I finally unlocked greatsword I had SUCH a blast. Thief was a ton of fun to me, I like most of the weapon sets a lot, like hopping in and out of combat, kiting with shadowsteps and whatnot- really had fun with everything from dagger dagger to shortbow and the underwater skills.

In PvP I had the most fun so far with the Guardian. I love popping bubbles and wards to control enemy's movement- pushing them away from myself and allies, and I love the torch.

I like how almost every post has a different favorite class. Means things are as they should be.

I played a warrior and an elementalist in the BWE's mainly I had a lot of fun on both.
My warrior was just a badass, once I got a hold of a 2 handed sword I was sold. I was taking on  2-3 mobs 3-4 levels higher and winning. Being a sick juggernaut was just so much fun, especially paired with an axe/warhorn combo.

The elementalist was fun in that I was very versatile. I chose the staff for the water attunement alone, but the meteor shower is a huge plus too. I loved being able to deal good aoe dmg from afar, switch to air and hit the speed buff, blind and push back, back to fire or water if I'm in trouble and pop healing rain and geyser. There is more going on when you stance dance making it harder than the warrior to master but they were both just as fun.

But then on the last stress test I played a Mesmer and I want to play that now too, so I'm getting stuck on what to roll come release.

My idea of fun is killing people, so to that effect both warrior and ranger were fun (the warrior is very versatile while the ranger just deals obscene damage). I also enjoyed the defensive/control aspects of the guardian though (like point defending) but I didn't enjoy the low damage.

The only other profession I played (thief) was not fun at all. It's squishy and the playstyle felt very limited and boring.

For pvp: Thief (shortbow + anything = awesome). Necromancer makes a close second. I chose these two because both professions are unique.

I found the elementalist obscenely fun.

Just wasn't my style or look though.

Elementalist does have that extra epic flare over the other professions definitely.

For me so far I would say I've most enjoyed playing the Thief. I love how nimble it feels....playing a thief first has kind of spoiled me now when I play other professions and they don't have the same dodge as the thief. It feels very strange and a little clumsy even.

Elementalist was a fun class but very hard to master. But I got used to it.

Engineer was a blast laying down all the turrets and using skills to make it so you deal pure dps all without them ever touching you.

Mesmer  was pretty fun and has a lot of potential.

I had a tough time with guardian so no opinion.

Necro was a beast and look forward to playing as one.

Ranger was just ridiculously fun with all the arrows to melee fights I got in.

Havent played any of the rest.

I am torn between ranger or ele

Ranger and Elementalist are the most fun for me. Ranger wins out slightly so far thanks to better support abilities. Ele is a little bit too damage oriented for my taste. Spirit Support Ranger is where I am heading.

I don't like any of the other classes unfortunately : / . Except perhaps Engineer, but it felt awkward to me.

Even when I already played this game for 77 hours, I can say I only really played Warrior and Elementalist (Necromancer planned for BWE3)

Both are fun, possibly Warrior is the most fun, need more practice with Elementalist to know, this one need to be played a lot to start to feel good, I know is good and fun, but need time, now, Warrior was (is) fun from the very first second I played it.

I played 4 classes so far...

Ranger is definitely fun, especially with a Greatsword/Longbow combo, but the Pet Mechanics... They just don't work, meaning that the ranger loses his speciality...

Necromancer, it is okay... Nothing too exciting, except for the fact that you can hardly die. Skills seem boring to me

Warrior is... Well... a warrior, just what you'd expect

Engineer is fun, but because of the very few weapon choices, it kinda loses it's flavor pretty fast, especially when you are not into any of the kits (Flamethrower is nice, but lacks damage...)

Guardian by far. It's not even the support aspect of it, the skills are just plain fun.

Elementalist,Ranger and Necro are the professions I have not tried.

From the others I enjoyed the Warrior and the Guardian the most.

Shortbow Thief was a lot of fun to play but I wouldn't call it very powerful or even efficient. Personally stuck to Necromancer mostly and had a grand time, especially when I unlocked Lich Form in PvE/WvWvW.

Hands down, Engineer with bomb kit and rocket boots... seriously the engineer is the most fun profession around:)

I can't get enough of dropping a "Big 'Ol Bomb in the vicinity of my ennemies, drop a glue bom then rocket boot backwards. Not only do u do great damage but you're treated with whacky animations too:D

Necro is hella fun for skirmishing, long life gives you lots of options and play style changes a lot depending what form you are in.

Elementalist makes things go boom real good.  So many tools and very powerful, its hard to not want to play this class.

Guardian looks very cool though only played a few rounds spvp with it.

Ranger is pretty typical mmo fare, great if you like the archer/melee playstyle and pet.  Warrior sounds similar but a little more forgiving but less get away options.

Thief/eng/mes never tried, mesmer does sound like it could be my favorite if I get to it.

"The one I like" will be the answer. Basically, people are going to play the one they find most fun overall.

Warrior for me. It's simplistic play means that I have less to learn and more time to become an expert at the profession. At 47 having to many skills available to me confuses me a bit and simplicity, I found, to be key to my survival. Not to mention the most fun I have had in and MMO in many many years.

I haven't found any particular class exceedingly fun, I've just found certain builds to be excruciatingly hilarious.

I played mostly Mesmer, Warrior, and Elementalist during the last few BWE. I have to say that the Mesmer was by far the most fun out of the three.
I think the reason that I enjoyed it so much was because of the portals (Portal Entre/Exaunt) and the teleport skills like Blink. While not the main force of damage or control, I liked how I could help my team by moving them quickly, providing relief of nasty conditions, and do a decent enough amount of damage. The clones are ridiculously weak (I read somewhere that they are supposed to be though) but the phantasms are actually half decent. The only problem with the Mesmer is their Clone Shattering ability is horrible, it's near useless.

I think that the "Most Fun Profession" is purely dependent on your playstyle. I like to be able to move fast, but still be an asset. So the Mesmer was a lot of fun for me. The Warrior and the Engineer didn't really do it for me so I probably won't play them that much (except in PvP)
