Help please!
I've disabled firewall, and I haven't got any anti-virus software, I uninstalled my Norton a couple of days ago.
This problem only started today.

Sometimes when I reset my router this problem doesn't occur but about 10 minutes ago even resetting it doesn't help.

If it's any help recently I downloaded a lot of skyrim mods and then when I chekced on GW2 I could no login.

I've restarted and run as administrator.

Also could someone kindly try their GW2 client out and login to see if it's just me.

The error you currently should be seeing is "Either there is no current Guild Wars 2 event or this account is not authorized to participate in one."

If this only started today, try to figure out what may have changed between the last time you tried and now.

Thats because Guild Wars 2 is not up. Beta weekend during the 20-22 of July and Headstart starts August 25th

from my experience it's nothing. I've had 3 different messages and never had an issue with login on during an event. I got the DNS one, this one and the one everyone gets. So i wouldn't be too worried.

I just tried and I was able to connect. At least you know the servers are not down and the problem is probably on your end in some way or another.

i get the usual message: 'there is no beta event....'

people used to get the message you are getting, there were lots of threads about it

not sure what might have changed for you...you might try moving your GW folder and everything in it, also maybe using Ccleaner or something to make sure nasty Norton left nothing behind

Just tried right now in the morning and it was fine.
Whatever it was, it seems that giving it a good rest fixes it

You start to get different errors if you try to login 3-4 times without restarting game client.

By restarting do you mean shutting down (by pressing the X in the top right hand corner) and restarting the client?

So even at times like this? Where there is no event for ages, you still get these different error messages?

Yeah, i've had them all lol. I even had that message like right before the stresstest and i still could login when it officially started. Now, i'd still ask support about this, just to be sure, but it's not necessarily anything to worry about. But best to cantact support, i had my own issues before last stresstest and had been conversing with support and even though at the end i didn't need them, they were very helpful in trying to find the problem.

You can't log in anyways, so why does it matter? They could be working on the servers or because so many people are trying to "log in" when there is not an event they could just have shut it down to prevent others from doing that.

Just to clear up, even now, where there will be no event for 2 weeks, if you open up the game client, you will be met with error codes such as The game client is unable to gain access, or the DNS error, or just any network connection error that has nothing to do with the 'There is no event' error?

Because sometimes when I log on it runs fine with the there is no event error but at other times I get some of the other errors and I have to either restart my computer or my router. This didn't start happening until yesterday.

There is no event going on. You can't log in. It will give you a few different reasons occasionally. If it continues when there is an event, then you have a problem but from my experience I have gotten different errors some times when I run the game client for fun sometimes. No worries man.

nothing, their help wasn't actually needed in the end, but you never know, cases differ from each other. But those three errors, are being cycled through, if you try logging in time after time it will go from 'no event running' to 'no connection to login server' or whatever otehr error there is.

I got that message before as well as the other one. Both messages just indicate that there isn't any event right now. The game worked fine for me when the actual BWE started.

Sometimes I get that message too when I open up the client. And then I can't even launch the game.After restarting it it works.
Anyone else getting this?

I have and all I have had to do was close the launcher and tried again. It usually is fine the 2nd time.
