Champion of the Gods seems like a bad pick given the lore as it stands at the start of the GW2 story.

"Champion of the Gods, huh? Where the hell are they, sunshine?"

It doesn't really matter to me as I will probably get rid of my GWAMM/Champion title (don't know which I prefer) as soon as I unlock my first title in Guild Wars 2.

I think I would rather display a title that actually means something and can be attributed to my skill/time invested in Guild Wars 2, not Guild Wars 1.

I agree with Harleh. I have both GWAMM and CotG and will wear both from time to time until I get a GW2 title. Really only titles that you earn in the game you're playing matter.

I appreciate the caviot Anet gave the GW1 players with both HOM rewards and wearable GW1 titles but unless they actually give me some karma points they really are only vanity.

It will be irrelevant to those of us who haven't played Guild Wars 1 (much). If the titles weren't achieved in GW2 they are irrelevant. I don't get any titles for winning Quake 3 Team Arena nationals back in the day, nor should I. From a purely objective outsider point of view. "GWAMM" (seriously you should've spelled it out in the first post) sounds incredibly corny and surely wont get the awe and respect you think might. Champion of the Gods sounds much more classy.

Considering the movie that inspired the "God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals" title, corniness is to be expected. ^_^

I don't think anyone here think wearing our Guild Wars 1 titles will get us any more respect, if anything it is for our personal nostalgia and I really think that if someone thinks he deserves respect because he has it he mainly deserves to be ignored ;). And yeah, the whole GWAMM title track is based on corniness :P This is what makes it great.

Btw, considering the presence of the Durmand Priory, it's a shame we can't wear "I Have Many Leather-Bound Books", really was the most awesome title of Guild Wars, I even considered stopping my HoM just to keep it,  but I'd rather have my nostalgia peak every time I open my title panel :P

I have GWAMM, and will display that over CotG until I max my first GW2 title. But I wish I could display "People Know Me" or "I Have Many Leather-Bound Books" just to confuse peeps who never played Guild Wars. :P

I was talking about the window where you select the title you will display, I think it will be nice for nostalgia seeing all eleven titles unlocked and wearable ;)

Edit : grammar

GWAMM has an over the top, narcissistic quality that I find appealing in a sarcastic way. I'll probably toss it on as soon as I log in, because a level one is clearly deserving of such an appellation.

As for my favorite title, definitely Flameseeker. Prophecies is my favorite GW1 campaign, so the reference has great nostalgia for me. Plus it's short, has an aggressive ring to it, and flows well before a name.

I have neither of those titles.
To compensate, my character will be named "GWAMM GodChampion".

It would be nice if earning GWAMM in gw1 gave us the title "Ron Burgandy" in GW2

Totally agree. From the standpoint of what sounds coolest without tacking on any additional connotations, Flameseeker sounds the best to me.

I've got it! I shall alternate!

Day 1: GWAMM
Day 2: COTG
Day 3: Ghostly Hero
Day 4: Flameseeker
Day 5: Legend of the Mists
Day 6: Closer to th.....

.etc

Especially since I don't see any GW2 titles obtainable within the first week :/

Either or, doesn't matter.

I would like to note that I don't really understand the idea that these two titles indicate that someone has a lot of free time.  Sure many people found out they would carry over to GW2 and have since then, spent huge amounts of time playing GW1 just for the items/titles but the majority of the people that will have those titles earned them through playing the game over several years.  These achievements are easily attainable through casual play over a couple years, and GW1 has been out over 7.

Personally I prefer GWAMM simply because I enjoyed the movie from which the entire title track is based and when they were originally added to the game thought they were hilarious as well as something cool to work towards.

I'd prefer that they extended the HoM to 100 points, and add higher tiered titles. Look someone already did it for you, just cope/paste it and add some titles.

I am a completionist, not seeing my HoM full 50/50 or not seeing the GWAMM bar at 30/30 bothered me, so I got them both done.  For GW2, by all means I will display the titles granted by those past achievments,  I pick my titles based upon thier coolness factor in my eyes, or if it just goes well with my character's name.  In SWTOR my favorite title is gained from an early space mission the Flyboy/Flygirl title, I may have 30 or so others, but that silly little title that everyone gets is still my favorite to display.

I'm glad they let us take our GWAMM to GW2. It's a nostalgic connection to GW. It's like an anchor, man.

My sylvari is going to smell of rich mahogany.

I would pick GWAMM simply because I feel it look more effort to get that than 50/50.

'My guild hall smells of rich mahogany' is pretty awesome, too.

Have both 50/50 and 30/30, personally I think God is cooler, cause it makes you sound like youve been there, and seen things, which is basically what your character did in GW1.

Agreed. If we could display that (and I actually had it in GW1), I would totally show 'My Guild Hall Smells of Rich Mahogany' over anything else. However, if I actually had the choice between GWAMM and CotG, there's no doubt I'd go with GWAMM. It just sounds so much more epic. Unfortunately, I'm not even close to either title.

I agree; I don't expect these titles to carry any weight at all among the non-GW1 population, except possibly for those interested enough in the titles to research how they are obtained. I have earned both titles, and I consider GWAMM to be the greater title by far. I sank a ton of time into earning it. HOM 50/50 is primarily a money issue and if one knows how to make money it is relatively simple.

i agree as well, lets be honest, alot of these titles were mostly timesinks. i have both, with the help of a good friend, we did lots of it together, but essentially they mean, you have farmed lots of money, and grinded lots :) this said, i am still glad i have them.

I'm using GWAMM, though I can go CotG. GWAMM is so much better and personally, I prefer LotM over CotG.

I have both titles, but GWAMM is not an option to select, only COTG. Am I missing something?

When you have selected a title to show, are people supposed to see the title? Someone in my party could not see mine, so I assume you can't or there is a bug?

Logging into the Guild Wars 1 account and character that had the GWAMM title fixed this for me.  The title is shown under your nameplate when someone targets you located at the top of the screen.

I have to admit I really have to force myself to help anyone in trouble wearing either of these titles - all that comes to mind when I see them is 'oh god another poser'. Sometimes I manage to convince myself and other times... not so much.

That probably makes me a bad person. :P

Having both, I consider GWAMM harder and having a more important meaning than COTG (in fact I consider the prerequisites for 50/50 to be very low for a "max achievement" title in comparison).

Also, I gained my GWAMM just 4 hours before GW2 headstart (gaining 5 consecutive titles that I had prepared for the ocassion hehehe, my name appeared on the chat so many times that a lot of random people started to congrat me :D) and I want to rock that GWAMM title all the time in GW2 as I didn't have time to use it too much in GW1 :)

None, both are made quite easy to get my Anet, they wanted people to buy GW2 so they gave them lots of help with the HOM and titles hunt.
