Hah, this will be interesting. I have seen some of the big Brazilian sites trying to gather the major alliances in IoJ as well. Server chat will be rather curious, I wonder how Oceania will deal with the inevitable "huahuahuahuahuahua!!!!".

Just something that a few gw2guru members have voiced. Not 100% sure if it was chosen by Whirlpool but if it was... terrible decision.

The community is going to be spread out due to the multiple alliances but hopefully it will make some great WvW matchups.

Picking another alternate this late in the game is fruitless, it's been a royal pain in the butt just trying to get this thread going due to guru's rules.

IoJ is the alternate as is GoM, if you want to be with Oceanics and not SoS or IoJ follow an Alliance. There are quite a few that have a significant Oceanic playerbase.

Where ever you go it will be full, even Dragonbrand. Just stick to your guns and roll with it.

Servers will even out eventually.  The first 2 to 4 weeks will always be full because many of us filed our leaves from work so we can go adik mode in GW2.  Sooner or later, we will all need to go back to work, and we will start seeing the servers breathing normally.

Whoever can stick to the end until the servers even out, will be the ones staying on their respective servers.    Having Brazillians in IoJ would be cool, IoJ also have Korean guilds, haha.  We will rule GW2

The guild I am joining is definitely Sea of Sorrows - We'll be on the ready to make sure we get in first pop on the strike of early access on the 25th.  This full server business would be tear-worthy.

Gotta feel for the real launch day purchasers (well, not really....lol).

Haven't chosen between IoJ or SoS yet, which one is going to have a larger community? I have no friends as of now to play the game with so I just need to make a choice where I can find people easily and have people playing at the same time I am.

Both will be huge, SoS is "the original" unofficial Oceanic server, But as of lately there has been a major shift in momentum in terms of IoJ. Best bet is to try and make some friend, or look for a guild that has similar interests as you, everyones generally fairly friendly.

GW2AU Guild forums would be a great place to start, the vast majority of Oceanic guilds have threads up there and frequent it regularly trying to generate interest. I'd advise you to give it a look.
