Since the faq on the official forums only talks about gem store purchases, I was wondering whether gems you trade for gold will also be credited back to you on launch. Anyone got an answer?

After the beta everything is wiped. You get reissued the gems at launch just as if you bought them at launch.

The system does not care about the way you use your gems in BWE3.
Any and all purchases done during it will be wiped. The game takes the record of how many gems you purchased for RL cash and, after wiping your gem account clean, (means no free gems) returns the Exact amount of gems you Purchased With RL Cash.
If your question is about gems you get for in-game cash... No you do NOT keep them.
Simple, fast, probably hack-proof.

I'm not sure why people aren't getting this...full wipe means all data reset. Any gems you buy during BWE3 will also be reset and available to you again upon release.

Okay, thanks. I was confused as you technically don't purchase anything from the gem store when you trade your gems for player gold, but I guess according to you(all) this is the case.

Ofcourse you WILL NOT get back gems bought with Gold!
That gold is currency gathered during the BWE.
EVERYTHING exept gems bought trough the gem store will be deleted.
