So, my laptop has slowly been developing some CPU overheating issues. It's between 2-3 years old and I've never cleaned the ventilation system on it, so I can only assume it's completely caked with dust, as the overheating is frequent and severe.
I've been hearing for years that you can buy cans of compressed air, and that these are suitable for cleaning PC ventilation. So, I went out to my local hardware stores in search of a can of compressed air. However, after visiting three stores I was unable to find "plain" compressed air - the best I could see was an emergency tyre inflation can, but it had a "flammable contents" symbol on it.
So, question is, what am I looking for exactly? I didn't expect it to be difficult to find these cans at all. Thanks.

You can get them almost anywhere, and they are just called air dusters, air in a can, etc. It's not really air, but rather a liquid compressed by pressure. Just don't flip the can or tip it sideways.

You can find them at staples, office depot and walmart in the US.

Sorry I didn't pop earlier in and thank those who responded to my topic - thanks!
It would seem I was simply being dumb looking at hardware stores. I went to the nearest office supplies store (four blocks away from my house) and found exactly what I was looking for.

Well I can't say much that hasn't already been said here... So I'll just say this.
ProTip: Don't inhale the stuff, it deprives your body of oxygen and can make you pass out and possibly die (oh noes!). But whats really dangerous is it destroys all those precious memories in your brain
