Hey guys,

I have seen quite a few threads regarding FPS issues and you want answers and/or help and with quite a few people not viewing the Beta Forums i thought we could create a thread here for those who do not wish to post in the official thread.

For those that do, please check here

For everyone experiencing performance issues, we would like more information about your setup so that our team can look into these issues. If you’d like to help, please post in this thread with the following info about your setup:

Framerate
Location in-game
Graphics settings in-game (including resolution)
DxDiag (this will also cover system specs)
Any special driver settings(ex. SLI, stereoscopic, etc.)

To find your DxDiag, Start>Run and type 'DxDiag' without the quotation marks and 'Save all Information'

If your DxDiag is too long to post here, please send it to [email protected] and we will forward it to the rest of the team. Thank you very much for your assistance!

Additional questions:
Do you have the latest drivers installed and did you install with factory defaults?

What is the frame rate displayed when running with “-fps”?

To see FPS, you will need to edit the Properties of your Guild Wars 2 .exe. To do this:
1. Locate your Gw2.exe file.
2. Right-click the file and select Properties.
3. Locate the Target line and add -fps to the end.
- Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -fps
4. Click OK.

Are you overclocking your GPU or are you running with a dual GPU setup(SLI/Crossfire)?

Is your Windows power plan set to “Best Performance”?

Were you running Guild Wars 2 with auto-detected graphics? If so, what settings did it pick for you?

Are you playing with an active virus-scan application? If so, which one?

Does running with “-umbra gpu” increase/decrease performance?

To do this, you will need to edit the Properties of your Guild Wars 2 .exe. like so:
1. Locate your Gw2.exe file.
2. Right-click the file and select Properties.
3. Locate the Target line and add -umbra gpu to the end.
- Example: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\gw2.exe” -umbra gpu
4. Click OK.

[NVidia]Does setting your graphics drivers to “Let the 3d application decide” or “Best performance” improve performance?

Other helpful things you can do:
Hang out in an area with low performance and take a screenshot(while using the “-fps”).
Take note of the location in game you are seeing poor performance and how many other players are in the area.
