[Freelancer]

This thread is simple, it's a non-reddit quickie thread to paste your pics from all of your guild craziness and fun. I will be hand-picking some awesome pictures here to show on Tales of Tyria Monday night.

IMO this weekend was the best yet. Made some new friends/contacts with other big names such as Titan Alliance. Had our SPvP teams in full blast, and tried all sorts of crazy things to have fun.

We learned a lot, got smashed by servers and smashed others. This set of rounds (except the Saturday one) was much better than the last BWE.

Here is some teaser pics for everyone to laugh.smile about on Tales of Tyria tomorrow. You guys knew we had to use our economic ability to one-up our March of the Golems

We got about 40-60 gold in gem conversions, worked the market to death, and ended up with 500-600 gold to blow over the course of the weekend. A large part of it went to upgrades/siege/commander icons for WvW.... but we also had our fun

Here's a few of us standing proudly in front of Dreaming Bay.  We held onto it for the entire 24 hours, and it was under CONSTANT assault from Fort Aspenwood, and occasionally we were fighting opponents from both servers simultaneously (Darkhaven).

It was my first (and sadly last) BWE, and I only got to really play one day this weekend, but that was enough to sell me on WvW... it's so fun!

I was in the defense of Stonemist on Desolation the whole day, and you guys just kept on coming.  Really thought you had us when you pulled out that siege golem  

Really fun WvW on sunday so thanks a lot for pushing us!

Edit:  O, and they really need to tone down the damage on the castle lord a little imo.  His damage was inSANE!

Totally agree with OP. This was my first world v world weekend(other events I wanted to try out classes, questing, crafting etc) so wanted to dig into this and my god - it brought back memories of playing Star Wars Galaxies at launch when we had hundreds engaged in combat - it was brilliant.

I don't have any pics or videos to share but this weekend was a complete blast.

JQ got matched up against SF and Stormbluff Isle for both Friday and Saturday (I think).  The weekend unfortunately seemed like a blur because I was having WAY too much fun.  I'm pretty sure I got at least one server wrong there.  Before I get into anything, completely didn't see SI coming and /salute to them for catching what appeared to be just a HUGE grudge match between JQ and SF.

We got our revenge on SoS yesterday...if you want to call it that.  I mean not much be taken away from these BWE's, but it at least was a good feeling seeing them in the #3 position last night when I logged.

Positives:

• Glad to finally get matched against SF.  It was a bloody back-and-forth.  I'm not sure either side could really claim victory since it was so close.
  
• Good to see some new faces in WvW...and happier to see the old ones
  
• Love the new way they're doing bag drops for kills!!!
  
• Last known milestone is out of the way until launch

Negatives:

• Friday's server lag wasn't cool.  I'm hoping there was much learned on the Anet side of things.
  
• The queue.  I'm in favor of continued activity in WvW but it came at a price unfortunately.  Wait times during peak hours were insane...but it's to be expected...and yes it's beta.
  
• Last known milestone is out of the way until launch...I want more!!!!   LOL

Hehe ... as a member of our little 'off the radar' alliance on SI, I would have to agree that Saturday and Sunday ranked right up there as some of the best gaming experiences I have had in some time.  Taking top honors against JQ and SF on Saturday was priceless, but JQ came back with a vengance of Sunday and it was an incredible back and forth affair with Sea of Sorrows jumping out to an early lead.

We came back and ran neck and neck for most of the day with JQ slowly pulling into the lead.  That 3 way battle at Greenbriar tower and the relevant supply camps there was truly Epic.  We got some vid coming on it.  In retrospect, we should have probably let ... or worked more closely with SOS to get them into Greenbriar and then worked to take it back from them.  JQ held out against all odds and that is one tough mother tower to take.  

Kudo's and Props to both SOS and JQ for a great match on Sunday.  If it could be like this all the time, we have a winner here!

Desolations last game against Fort Ranik and Augury rock was an epic affair with back and fourth struggle all day, but by nightfall we held them back in the middle while dominating a full map. I've seen others cover the entire map, but this match up was fairly even with all servers being winners up to that point so I felt it was more of an achievement. I was too busy fighting to actually take any battle screens unfortunatly.

Before the lag of 12sec delay kicked me out I snagged this I kid you not there is a fight to my left and right and the lag was helping us win.

I was the only one From my guild to go into WvW on the last day and Im bad at remembering to take screen shots when there around because we are normally  having to much fun to think about it.

Umh... thats a screenshot showing my character, so obviously Gandara server - not desolation. I think you are mistaking something. See the [FU] tag at the left?

And yeah, we had like 20 weapons in boss room and mortars aimed inside. But only needed it once during match up and the enemies did not even get inside the room, getting wiped on the slope.

On match up against Desolation, you took the stonemist first, and we were unable to retake it and eventually gave up - since the moment we got inside, the server lagged for like 1 minute straight. Each single time..

Ah, my bad, as I said, I just took it from a desolation thread elsewhere. Though we did have a similar defense, I wasn't there to see it in person.

Kinda lightly touched this BWE so i'd have surprises at launch. Tried the starter Asura/Sylvari which both were entertaining then for the heck of it I ran my Sylvari to a portal, ended up eventually in Asura Bay and accidentally fell in lol but got a nice screenshot of it which I am currently using as my laptop background lol, love the moonlight effects through the water! About a month left, unfortunately didn't sell my wife or bro-in-law on the game but solo's alright! See ya back in Tyria in a month!

Start of BWE3. We had officers meeting planed in like 20 minutes ( and it was planed more than 1 hour ahead of announced BWE start), but arena as always tricked everyone and started even sooner - so had to rush into WvW alone, sending messages to the rest of the alliance, without any preparation or gathering even everyone from the guild. The first battle was a blast though:

Thanks for sharing.  Neat seeing that battle from the other sides perspective.  LOL!  I was the little redhead pigtail asura warrior trying to smack you around at 1:25.  

What is it with Greenbriar anyways?  Every time I play on a boardlands map it ends up with a huge 3-way stand off at Greenbriar.  Had a lot of fun last nite out there with everyone running thru holes in the walls, courtyard full of 2 sets of enemies, up to the lord room just to get knocked off by siege to do it all over again.  Lots of JQ chat wondering why SI and SoS didn't get a more solid double team or backdoor one another.  Crazy fun times tho.

Sunday night was one of the few times I made into WvW right away instead of waiting for hours in a queue so I actually got to play.  Those bugs need to get squashed asap.

I suspect that SOS may have wanted to be somewhere else, but with map caps, what can you do?  Here SOS really did not have much choice ... when in their position you pretty much have to take either the sw or s supply camp first.  Problem was nobody was taking that greenvale refuge from us despite repeated zerg attempts and they could not hold the south supply either.

I feel confident we would have you at Greenbriar if SOS was not there ... we controlled both supply camps to it for the most part and our only problem was we had to fight SOS in the courtyard before we even got up the stairs.  But that's all part of the fun .... and it certainly was fun.  I wish there was a way to talk cross server and make diplomacy an easier element to work with in game.....

I don't think SoS sieging us helped us in any way =P it was a 3 way war that took 8(?) hours and JQ managed to barely come on top. It was great fun, no need to say "Oh we woulda won but it was everyone working against us". I'm sure SoS people were shooting at JQ and SB players alike.

WHY oh WHY did SoS NOT attack Greenvale from behind?

We finally stormed it with a small group and took it over... SoS came out then to hit us from behind.  Anyhow, am working on some footage of the battle... unfortunately some of it, well, most of it was corrupted (damn you Fraps).  I have footage of when SB and SoS pushed us ALL the way back to the Lord... even after our Lord was dead.

After that...whenever people were freaking over..."Oh no, they knocked down a wall" or "oh, no, StormBluff is pushing and set up two trebs on the hill".... I was like... "well, are there SIX trebs set up bombing us?  Are BOTH wall sections down with SoS and SB pouring in through different sections?  Is our Tower Lord DEAD?  No, then yeah, easy mode."  

The funniest moments... "Oh no, our gate is at 5%"... really, how do you NOT see the BIG HOLE in the Wall next to the gate...really?"

Or... "WHY is there a flame ram built ON TOP OF OUR WALL!!!"

I was only in WvW for a short time, but when I did go there, I used up all the money I made on the auction house to buy siege equipment, and dropped them all on the ground for other people to carry away. That sight was one of the funniest ones I've seen so far: People running of with boxes en masse. Shame I didn't make any screen shots.
