I didn't finish setting her up because I didn't want to spoil myself on the race I'll be starting with at launch, and I'm definitely not going to reproduce her when the game goes live. She was just too freaky to be looking at as a main character. I wish I made a screenshot though.

I did give her a glow, but I made it white. I was undecided what I wanted to do with eye color and glow color because I'm the type of person to change the color of armor allot and I wanted something that would match anything. So I went with white eyes (which I'll prolly change) and a white glow. At first I thought it would be super boring but the white glow actually made her look pretty surreal at night. I didn't take any night screenshots though.
I was extremely happy with her when it was all said and done though. Sylvari are truly the most beautiful race I've seen in any MMO.

Might try blue hair on the purple skinned one next time. For the other girl I tried white hair with the sort of light peachy/orange skin. It was quite nice. Then I tried red hair to go for a more autumn leave fall look like these leaves: http://www.freecompu...es-1024x768.jpg

Initial plan was Brown-Green look with yellow eyes. While it looks great on character screen, I found it to look a bit too yellow in game. But I really liked it overall, since it was my initial dream of my Sylvari.
Second attempt was to try for something more green. So went with green-blue. With blue eyes and blue glow (I plan on playing an elementalist and kinda want to be "water attuned" in terms of story, so I figured it'd be fitting). While I quite like this one I find myself torn between the two designs.
Also, I had a heck of a hard time deciding on leaf color for the "hair." I felt the dark brown-green was the more universal in terms of color matching though. That said, seeing some of these pale and other designed Sylvari make me question my design even more. xD

So bear with me a few minutes if you actually know anything about color, as I am purely a math and science guy. After playing Sylvari this weekend, I decided I wanted to get my main's inspiration from a tree losing its last autumn leaves, which seems fitting for a Necro. To this end, I am thinking about a dark brown body for the trunk and orange leaves as hair. Lo and behold, this color wheel tells me that brown and orange are actually the same color (mind = blown).
Looking, then, at the complimentary color, it appears blue / light blue might make for a good bio-luminescence. However, I am concerned that the blue highlight might lock me into a limited color scheme for armor, and that I would have to stay with the orange and blue scheme. Perhaps the square color scheme would work and I could mix in some purple and yellow on my armor (though that sounds pretty complicated to balance).
Alternately, I could use purple bio-luminescence and blend green and more orange into the armor (triadic scheme). I'm not sure whether this is any less limited than the above, but I do like purple quite a bit. And let's be honest, I really dislike that one blue and orange sports team. Yeah, you know the one...
I also thought about using a yellow to white-yellow bio-luminescence and keeping with the warm adjacent colors. Argh, I wish Anet would release a character creation head start to the actual head start.
Any advice for the color illiterate?

But i've spent most of my time more on tuning sliders, rather than colors.
Btw, did anyone see closely the Nightmare NPCs and found the color combos to create a Sylvari close to that appearance?

Unlike the Sons of Svanir or Flame Legion, there are no "Nightmare colors" that I can think of. It just doesn't work that way.
