Take into consideration that this is a very different game than GW1 when it comes to minions. You needed a lot of corpses to be able to build up a high damage minion army there, which is something you'd never be able to find in pvp.

This is true, and is a reason why I considered not making that post. However, I still felt like the precedent set by GW1 could be important to note. I also believe that really balancing any kind of minion master archetype in structured PvP is something that has rarely (never?) been done correctly.

Was going to say, this is all wrong. But I guess it's outdated.

I agree with Sprawl, just give us what we want. DS changes, Siphoning, MM, and Condition builds.

I'd be surprised if they make serious changes to minions with sPvP in mind other than improving the AI. Given their track record in GW1, I think minions are going to be relegated to PvE.

edit: I'd be ecstatic if we got at least three of those builds in competitive shape.

To be fair, most of the reasons that minion builds were not popular in GW1 small group PvP are not applicable to this game.

I think it's pretty clear people are looking for 4 viable builds for the most part for spvp:

1. condition
2. siphon
3. MM
4. DD/power/crit

It's up for ANet to deliver that.

This EXACTLY.

Actually very little of it is outdated, and those bits which required updates have had them with colour coding to highlight that.

(The 'What is left to be changed' section is very up to date for example.)

There are two other builds which need adding to that list of 4:

5. Condition DD hybrid.
6. Support.

I play Condition DD Hybrid (Crarrion Amulet/Rampage Jewel 30 Spite, 30 Curses, 10 DM) and I can say for sure (I have expierience with it on tPvP) that it is viable. It runs very good, just need more effort than classic Cond/Critic build on Rabbid. But there it is, and it is good.

For support I agree- we lack good support build, considering that wells are useless, Transfusion was nerfed and we lack good CC. Longer fear would help here, and better AoE effects (Healing and conditions playing).

Agreed what Sprawl said + updated Wells to make a good support build viable.
