hi all,

because there is no poll/thread about it i thought i'll make one finally

its simple.. what will be the first class/profession you will play on release ? it would be awesome if as many of you as possible vote and if you haven't decided yet maybe you have a tendency to a specific class/profession and can give that class your vote.. of course i would appreciate it if you discuss the classes in this thread, what classes/professions you love, what you hate and why

my personal preference is the following:

1. thief, ranger
2. elementalist
3. necro, engi
4. warrior
5. guardian
6. Mesmer

1. i haven't decided yet what to play first, but it will be the thief or the ranger.. my tendency as of now goes towards the ranger

2. after i play the thief and the ranger i'll enroll a elementalist as the 3rd class/profession (well maybe i'll play it as the second after one of the first and the other of no. 1 as the 3rd lol)

3. after i played the thief, ranger and ele i'll play most likely a necro or engi

4. last but not least  think i'll play a warrior

5. no guardian for me as i dislike him
6. no mesmer for me too as i can'T fit in with the playstyle its a cool class/profession but doesn't suite me at all..

I haven't played all classes yet, but of the ones I've played so far:
1. Elementalist
2. Mesmer
3. Thief
4. / 5. Warrior / Guardian ... hard decision
6. Ranger

Still haven't played Engineer and Necromancer...

Warrior will be my main. The other 4 slots will be a Guardian, an Engineer, a Ranger, and then an Ele.

yeah i know this topic, but its only for race not class and there is only a race poll not a class poll i asked for a class poll some days ago on this topic but no one made one so i had to do it myself.. just that i'm not able to create a poll ?

/e: unfortunately i'm not able to correct the title -.- sorry.. maybe a mod can do this ? i corrected my text and now wrote class/profession everywhere so that everyone should be happy now i hope ?

I just can't decide. Played Elementalist, Necromancer and Warrior and I love all of them....when I watch a vid of Thief - I really would like to try Thief etc...it's annoying as heck...

Probably just going Necro or Warrior...I DUNNO! *throws his hands up*

Got so caught up in those 3 I forgot to try Guardian, Necromancer, and Elementalist...
Oh well.

Feelin for my thief and Mesmer...but I can't decide what race to make them Q_Q.
Might as well make my thief Human it feels like he fits along with the personal story I want...

I was Thief thiet thief all the way until this BWE3...specifically until I saw some biga$$ norn guardian with a great sword leap into a fight, and do a swirly thing with swirlys coming out of his arse.

So I rolled a guardian, LOVE IT!  I love every single weapon set and combo, the abilities rock....way better than the thief.

So I am torn, thief or guardian for my first.  I always liked the idea of a thief because if I ever wanted to RP a bit(which I dont, but in my mind I do) the thief persona is one I could get into...rummaging the wild, scavanging, stealing blah blah blah.  I dont see that with a guardian(even though you obviously can do that in game, aside from stealing).

So for me:

Thief/Guardian
Necromancer
Mesmer
Ranger
Elementalist
Warrior
Engineer

Warrior or Mesmer. Warrior because I played that mostly in GW1, Mesmer because I regret not playing it more in GW1 lol.

Guardian, Thief, and Elementalist are my three favorite.  I will probably play Warrior and Ranger as well.

I will not be playing an Engineer, Necromancer, or Mesmer.  Just do not care for those play styles.

Me .. mesmer or elementalist. I may start with another class but I always end up with playing casters as my main.

hehe yeah.. i'm asking this myself too its not possible to create one, i've searched through every option at lest 5 times i don't how how polls are beeing made here because i'm in this forum onl for about 2 weeks.. maybe only a mod can create one ? or does a topic need a certain amounth of replys to get an poll option ?

Mesmer of course will be my only character for a while and some time down the road I will make a Guardian.

I tried out Necro which was one of my mains in GW1 and don't like how it feels at all, I liked it better in GW1. The rest of the professions I may try out for like 5 mins just to see how they are, but I won't play them much at all.

yep.. a d/p thief rocks.. really nice in my opinion.. but d/d thief is a bit better in my opinion

Only mods or curse premium members can create polls I believe...

Thief is fun if you know how to melee without taking too much damage. If you don't and you're just going to range, then just play a ranger because it pretty much defeats the point of playing a thief....

I plan to play every class and every race. But for starters i was thinking about a ranger or mesmer. I liked them both a lot during the BWE's, but the mesmer felt more fragile, so i think ranger as 1st character will probably be the best choice for me...

damn ok.. good to know thanks for the info thats somehow a bit lame in my opinion but well.. doesn't matter anymore xD can a mod please create a poll in this thread that only has the 8 options for the professions pleaaase ?! and also maybe add "profession" to the title of this thread as i didn't knew that its soo important, but i want to make everyone happy with this thread

I absolutely fell in love with the warrior this build. This will be my first character live. Second will be necromancer if they fix some of the builds. I fell in love with necromancers back in EQ and I try to play one in any MMO that has one.
