You do realize, it is just the good ol' shitty f2p shooter War Inc, getting forcefully revamped to a zombie game to ride on DayZ's wake, right?^^ I know the debunked dev's claims ('we're working on it since 2011'...yeah, right), but they're just trying to milk the hype.
You like the screen shots? Check for yourself how they just recycle the same models:
http://imgur.com/a/SvNg5/noscript (srsly, watch this - you'll be laughing your asses off^^)
After seeing that, don't you think it's highly suspicious that nowhere do they mention, they just reuse another game to staple their zombie mmo onto...?
nosscire, on 26 July 2012 - 01:48 PM, said:
Did they steal the idea? Likely, but it's not a straight up copycat game of a successful product, as this game started it's development long before Day Z became successful.
This is just a tricky lie. They were messing around with War Inc and call that development of War Z, although at that point noone thought of doing a Zombie game. That idea spawned only when DayZ hit it big. Since the company does cheap, sucky f2p games, sped up development, outsourced to overseas, is par for the course.^^ If you dig around on the DayZ boards (I cba, because they are so overloaded and slow), you'll be able to find the thread of someone debunking the claims, linking sources and unveiling the shadiness of Titov, Nordin and Hammerpoint.
You can check out War Z now - just try out War Inc and imagine some Zombies and disgusting f2p mmo elements in the mix...
If you actually like that PoS, you'll probably like War Z. Since you probably won't, you can rest assured, that another good zombie game is coming.
edit:
Their business model is very similar to mockbuster productions like Asylum (releasing cheap knock offs of blockbuster movies simultaneously and direct-to-dvd, so customers get deceived and mistakenly rent it), bringing you such gems as:

or

more hilarious examples here: http://www.totallyto...ckbuster-movies
The only similarity between DayZ and War Z is that they both feature Zombies, Guns and Zs in their name. That's about it.
Oh, and btw - I heard this titov dude is known to impersonate neutral gamers on other game's forums to promote their game as some kind of viral marketing...not saying alukard is (his grammar is far better than titov's - srsly, even as a non-grammar-nazi and non-native speaker doing loads of mistakes myself, it's hard to take a professional dev, who posts in broken english, seriously), just food for thought...

I would rather play Day Z (I have not tried war z though) but Day Z needs to come out stand alone before I touch it again.

Frankly, after watching that video... I have no interest in the game.
- Paying $ for alpha/beta game? No thanx.
- Quality of textures, characters, zombies, etc is atrocious....
- Animation glitch's & lack of animations...
- Cash shop where you can buy items... that you will loose if/when you die? No thanx. Seriously, you loose any & all items on your character when you die... so you pay $ for items you can loose within seconds of logging into the game
- Love being killed by other players before they even have a chance to fully spawn in on your screen? DayZ is for you!
- Stealth system that's apparently useless? pfft
- Taking damage from walking down a hill.... lolz
- Advertising "up to 100 players per server!" when you can only get 50 ppl per server..
- Having to spend hours slowly walking from location to location, hoping to find someplace not totally infested with zombies where you can actually get/find some kind of useful item? pfft. Seriously, at least 30 min of TB's video is him trying to get from starting point to 1 location semi close to the starting point.... ZZZZzzz......
- 1 hour respawn if your character dies? that's terrible. As TB does, better off just deleting and re-creating a character if it does... better than having to wait an hour to play it again.
- Oh, and no swimming at all?
- No wildlife... just players and zombies....
- Hacker's running rampart
- Issue about hackers apparently being swept under the carpet
- players being banned randomly and apparently for no reason.. and told if they want to play they need to buy another copy.
There's a lot more to be said, but I'd advise to watch the video.

Fans say they've been misled by The War Z developers
A shocking interview with The War Z developer on false Steam Store claims
edit: Lol just have to add this. After Steam forums were being raided, turned into a SW:TOR-launch-forum-simulator, all day long by an angry mob of gamers, Valve finally decided to remove the game from their service and offer refunds. Meanwhile the angry mob is pissing all over the game's official forums and the game's metascore has dropped to a 12 out of 100 with a total of over 1000 votes cast.
A great day to be a gamer, when justice is served.

It gets worse. Obvious and blatant ripping off of artwork from AMC's The Walking Dead used in their promotional image. All they have done is done some touch-up work and small editing of it - like flipping it, adding some "clothes" and slight editing of eye's... but it's still obviously a direct copy of other material from other copyrighted works. Quite possible legal action for copyright infringement might be happening - I'm not knowledgeable about copyright law, so there might or might not be a case here.... but even if it's not, completely despicable.

I agree. I never cared for either Day Z or War Z, but when a game company lies to its customers, it deserves to be torn to pieces.

Sergey Titov should be replaced.
A shame, it really is a fun game to play with friends.

Things look a little brighter now for those who already own The War Z, that said, if you don't own The War Z and are a potential buyer, purchase it with caution and confidence.

I'm going post much bigger post about events of the last week, I really need time to think about all this, but here's one thing I want to tell you all before holidays:
We've got too carried away and we've took our success for granted ( okay 700K registered users, with around 170K users playing daily in less than 3 months - this is success for small indie company ) and we've lost touch with people who matter most - our community.
And this is my fault, and for that I apologies. It happens under my leadership and there're no excuses for that."

I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him, and he sounds like a heavy fellow. Seems like the publisher got angry and yelled at him so he made a real apology statement. Too bad it doesn't change the general opinion the game is no good.

Some recent and much needed updates from this month
- Added spawn protection. While spawning in after reviving or switching servers you will be invincible for 30 seconds. If you fire your weapon during this time you will lose your spawn protection. Your character will have a yellow shield to signify that you are under protection. You will not have spawn protection when spawning back to the same server.
- Increased Melee speed
- You can now unload a clip from your weapon.
- To encourage exploration Item spawns have changed across the entire map. You will no longer find the same items in the same areas after patch and will need to cover more of the map to build up your inventory.
Take some of that FREE GC the WarZ devs have handed out and use that GC to buy items on the WarZ market while they are 50% off
Cheers
