Hi all,

I've been considering rolling Guardian since last beta week-end, when I first got my hands on this wonderful game.  I love the concept and mechanic of the class as well as the gameplay and the feeling it has but there's one thing that really bugs me: armor. One might consider it a minor concern but it is very important to me and so far, all the heavy armors I've come across seem to be a better fit for warriors. No offense here but I'm looking for something a little more subtle and I like flowing ornaments.
I kinda found what I wanted with this armor that I absolutely love:
Posted Image

However, I'd like to know if any of you knows of another set that would have the same feeling and look approriate for Guardians? I wish Guardians would have been scholars as I'm in love with all of the light armor sets I've seen so far. I'm usually not a big fan of soldiers or heavy armors...

EDIT: sorry for the mess, the hotspot disconnected me half way when I was writting the post. <_<

I think it's called Seraph armor that me and my girlfriend will be aiming for. It's the armor the guardian wears on the character creation screen and the one Logan wears. It's a human (racial) armor though, I don't know what you will be rolling race-wise.

You can find it on a picture in this thread:http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/44511-racial-armor-extravaganza/

I've also been eyeing that set of armour as well, I hope it's in the game.

I didn't see it anywhere in that thread, and I looked through all of the races.

Warriors and guardians wear the same armour. I believe the Seraph racial armour is supposed to be the "de facto" guardian armour. However, everything can be made to look "guardian-y" with some silver/blue dye.

Here are all the armour sets in the game (except human and sylvari dungeon armours): http://dulfy.net/201...armor-previews/

You can also see everything in this video (this one shows every race):

Human male and female, far right picture. Unfortunatly the human female's "tabard" was painted grey in that picture, but that's all up to how you intend to dye it later anyway.

To be a bit more exact (far right):

And yes, naturally that's heavy armor for both warriors and guardians, but I think it has a nice "guardian-like" look!

That is what ultimately made me decide to roll human. That and looking at the armor on the other races, I feel the heavy armor looks the best on humans all-in-all.

Any armor doned by a human will finally look far better then that worn on let's say a charr/norn/asura. You are a Norn and you're massive, and possibly visualy the most impressive since all the armor details will be so plain to see, yet on some degree you still look like an ogre and it's hard not to think of them more as savages then knights/paladins and such.(speaking for male body types, females still look pretty slick.)On another hand you're a Charr, and despite looking totaly menacing and bloodthirsty, you are mostly hunched forward and bootless, and as such the armor will also look a tad bit dissproportionate.Asurans...ah, few will be times when someone will actualy glance down to your armor without being blocked by the baloon-sized head, so if your idea is to show off your armor, Asurans are by far the obvious no-no.

Ultimately, every race is special and neither is to be excluded for a choice of a character. I will probably make one of each, altho in the end the one I will be working on the most in the terms of esthetics will be the human.

Yeah exactly. I don't feel very knight-ish as a Norn, more like a mini-behemoth, with overly bulked up, puffy looking armor.

Also when I think of something like the Lord of the Rings, you see these well-armored humans fighting these gigantic Orcs, Uruks and other monstrosities. It feels on par with the "badassedness" of what the Guardian or a Knight etc, should be. I made a Charr because I thought they looked cool, but the luster was lost when I saw how poorly a good chunk of their armor sets looked. Human all around I find looks the best, though admittedly the idea of "being big and noticeable" has some appeal, but I'd rather be normal sized and covered in awesome armor.

Pretty sure this is the seraph armor. And indeed, looks pretty awesome for a guardian.

Gotta say I really like this armor too: http://imgur.com/a/MK9Q1#60

Edit: I was wrong, this is not the seraph armor.

You take a look at the racial armors here: Tiers 1-3 for each race. The third tier human and norn are my favorite. The char armor would look awesome too with some better dye work I think.

The picture in the opening post is Dragon armor, if you didn't know. You can sort of see parts of it in my Avatar....it's really nice in game too.

That is not seraph armor. Seraph is what Wickity posted. If you are not sure, just check Logan's armor, he's seraph and he wears it.
Maybe you got confused because of the shield, it's the same as the guardian has on the videos when guard was released.

About armor, i think a lot of armor skins (just the ones we saw-dungeon+racial, i guess there are a lot more) fit great for guardian, not just the human ones, but asura's got some fancy armor to!

Seraph armour is indeed a good fit for guardians in general, but I think the OP is looking for more of a 'warrior mage' look than the paladin look - if I read between the lines correctly, one of the things that attracts the OP to the armour shown (which, incidentally, we've seen renders for although we don't know just how to get it yet - the ingame version loses a lot of the detail like most concept-render conversions but it still looks good, and the female version has less differences compared to the male) are the 'wings' coming down from the hips making it look a bit like it's worked scholar's robes into the armour.

If I have read things correctly, the heavy armour from the Kodan dungeon is probably worth a look (second on the bottom row here) - simple ornamentation, you can lose the bear motif through a headgear swap if you don't like that, and it also has robe-like ornaments hanging from the belt. The Orrian armour might also fit for a darker guardian.

I'll keep an eye out for others, since it's something I'm interested in as well (although I am just as interested in the paladin look).

EDIT PS, you can see renders of the concept art in the OP here.

Hah!  That's awesome that you say that because I'm going for sort of a Dais look with the T3 norn heavy armor:

Thanks guys for all the answers! I have to admit that there are a few I did not know about but look great: the kodan armor from a lvl 80 dungeon is especially great; if you ask me. I'm not a big fan of the Orrian heavy set however: it would not be out of place on my Necromancer that I plan to make so that she looks very agressive but I just don't feel it for a Guardian. ;)

Spoiler

In case you're wondering how to obtain this armor, it is crafted according to the database.
Requires Armorsmithing 400, orichalcum and gossamer. This is the helmet of it:
http://www.gw2db.com...ric-helm-exotic

Even though the recipe says Barbaric, it actually creates a Draconic Helmet. The "Knights" is just a magical prefix from the insignia used. 17 defense also doesn't seem to be correct, it displays that for all helmets for some reason.

If you mean this one:

That's Tier 1 Charr racial armor, exclusive to the Charr race. It's buyable at the Black Citadel inside the Imperator's Core.
The vendor is called Comidus

Im hoping there are more armors to be seen that we have not yet even found in game, because I only like maybe 1-2 of the dungeon armors and only like some of the armors that have been posted so far from other places, seems all the really cool looking one's are in Structured PVP which erks me alot if they are not available in PVE world aswell.

I dont really want to use armors like dungeon one's anymore as everyone will be wearing them pretty much and is boring, want to look as unique as possible, if thats even possible.
