Midnight pst is 2 am for me so I'll get home early from work, 3 S's, eat, then bed till 1:30. If it's noon/2pm then I think I might be feelin a GW2 flu coming on. ;)

I would hope it would be midnight of the 25th. Pre-purchase is a three day head start. The game releases on the 28th. One would expect that if you were to buy the game digitally, or at a midnight release from a retail store at 12:01 am on the 28th, that you would be able to start installing and playing the game when you get home.

So the servers should be live at 12:01 am on the 25th to be a proper three full days. The promotion didn't say "2 and a half day head start".

they will just 72 hours from the start of headstart to official launch.  3 days no matter when headstart -starts.  also i forsee way more people pre-purchasing than waiting until the 28th,  because why would anyone want to wait.

Well... Wouldnt it logically be the same time every BWE has started?

If the headstart started Friday, I wouldn't mind it starting at the same time as the BWEs. But as it is Saturday I really hope it'll be midnight PDT because the BWEs have started 10 pm my time and that'd pretty much leave me only sunday to nolife before returning to reality. The finale events were already ill timed for Europeans, could we at least have most of the saturday the 25th to play T.T

Whose morning? Ever heard of time zones? They are important if you have ever traveled a few hundred m/k east or west from your hometown.

The only time zone that'll matter...ArenaNets.

Write a question mark into your thread title next time -_- that was disappointing.

lol I had the same thoughts...I concur.

I would imagine 12am PDT or 3am EST is the target. Time will tell though.

Every time this thread gets another post everyone rushes here to see if there is an official or leaked time for start.

It's comical and yet so very frustrating. (Obviously I'm one of those that rushes to see. lol)

I wish Anet would just tell us already so I can start planning and stop worrying about it conflicting with rl.

I'm going to assume its going to be the same thing as with the BWEs. Might be, might not. Since I'm not in a hurry to reserve names, good luck to you guys if it indeed starts at midnight of their time.

Not to create another argument/discussion on this forum, but a release date usually (when taking into account that midnight releases are now common place) begins at 12am somewhere (in this case PDT). The catch here though is we are dealing with a headstart and not an official "launch." It could be similar to BWEs or similar to a midnight release. With their excitement for the game paired with our own excitement, I would not be surprised if it was 12am PDT. Time will tell my dear Amigo/a...time will tell.

As I told someone a page or so ago, I had the same thoughts and clicked on the damn link as fast as I would click in CS...The funny thing is that this thread will turn into the Release Date Speculation Thread, where I constantly went back to it to see if there was an update I missed only to want to bash my head against the wall with the senseless back and forth that was going on.

Edit: punctuation mark.

If you want to be up-to-date, your best bet would be to keep track of the News section. Sometimes trolls like to create threads with misleading tittles and/or content... its funny sometimes but also frustrating.

right ANET is based in washington (gmt -8)

so if it is 12:01 am pst

aussies - 6:01pm

mainland europe - 09:01 am

uk - 08:01 am

and if its est take 2 hours off each time zone

assuming that it will be at 12am na time (I doubt it though) but no matter where you live as soon as its live everyone with headstart gets 72 hours until launch its just some timezones will get the 12am - 6am slot and its up to the people that get that time slot if they want to get up early......

EDIT: DONT DO MATH WHEN YOUR ABOUT TO GOTO BED :P

I was planning on going in to work early the week before, so I can come home and get to bed early, then get up at 02:00 and be ready to log in at 03:00 on Saturday morning. Assuming it’s midnight PDT, of course. I’m not sure I can take another 12 hours of withdrawal if it’s noon.

I took the whole last week of August off. It’s not like I have anything else to do with my vacation.

Right on except PST is 3 hours back from EST. So, a 12am PST (Seattle) = 3am EST.

Here you go. This should help you out.

Beat me to it ;)

That puts headstart time at 12pm Eastern Standard Time.

Personally I would prefer the 12pm pst headstart on Saturday as it would be 3pm here on east coast and while most games normally launch at midnight AreanaNet is not your typical game developer so who knows when they will start the headstart.
