I was thinking a really crazy event which some might appreciate would be a world event where ai enemies are trying to take over the whole world. Similar to like lord of the rings with saurans army or like 28 days later where zombies are trying to take over.

obviously this would be done in the future where players are more experienced and established. This would mean certain parts of the world would fall to the enemy and a world wide community group we could be trying to figure out how to stop it. Guild captains who have really large followers and experience could be put in charge to lead people in certain areas and we can have a forum board to discuss if we should fall back here instead of losing many lives or reinforce that part of the world.

My other ideas could be similar to the olympics where each class fights each other and takes place in heats to decide who will represent themselves in different categories then each build or class would fight it out once the group or people have been chosen.

last ideas maybe in pvp we can do different modes like in call of duty, zombie mode, just knife mode

and the other ideas i saw online with skills being being sold in shop that can be swapped out with the same skill but different animation.

this is my first mmporg game so pardon my knowledge gap looking forward to this game

Wait what..? Those are mindless infected people who are heeding to their basic, primitive instinct.. totally not trying to take over the world...

Well.. I think meta events will work along these lines, at least it was mentioned that by a meta ice boss the whole zone's climate could change to snowstorm or something alogn the lines, and it would require a big-scaled grouping in order to defeat.

Maybe just because I'm a bit tired, but couldn't understand half of it.

I can't see what does this have to do with your proposed PvE idea.. nonetheless, they just don't fit GW2.

What does this have to do with the promosed PvE event thread of yours..? Also, it won't happen just as the mirrored weapon-wielding (what lefties were whining for long ago) as Anet stated that they want to make PvP an Esport: which means that by looking at you and your skills, the enemy should be able to tell what the hell is going on. With new animations, people would need to learn more unnecessarily.

thanks for the reply so this meta event you speak of it's like a big boss that will affect the whole field and area that it's in and everyone has to fight it to kill sounds cool, would that mean the last person to get a hit in will get a rare item

oh those pale tree seedlings, oh.

No you don't get a rare item for getting the last hit. Everyone gets drop.

i know everybody gets a drop, but i was refering to how other games do a system like that where everybody gets same xp and everybody gets items but some lucky person gets a rare bonus item for getting the last hit or doing the most damage it might be the case here for really big bosses

You seriously missed out on the beta finales...

We had to fight against a Legendary White Bunny

Then we had an infected zombie finale... well, sorta zombie-ish.

Beta 3 ended with the Hunger Games.

I am so sorry, because the server wide (world wide) craziness you wanted... already happened.  BUT, I have no doubt ArenaNet will implement new and more of these server wide madness type events.  So no worries...beef curries... there is yet more to come!

I think there should be some sort of huge global event where the orange circle is around the entire game map, lol that probably wont ever become an actual event but would be cool to have something like that for a special holiday event like halloween where the circle is around the whole map.

I am sure ANet will continue to do server wide events like that... they are kinda nuts, and weird, and all the goodness of lollipops rolled into one... The zombie one was kinda boinked because something was broken and none of the servers completed that finale...

The White Bunny one led to more and more things to kill... but was kind of disappointing.

The Hunger Games one... I wish I went ... but since the previous two didn't turn out too well, my guildies and I decided not to go.  We should have... it sounded kinda fun afterwards.

There are map-wide meta-events... like Shadow of the Behemoth, or the Super Shaman in Wayfarer's Foothill (I think he's a meta).  You and others must unlock all these DEs and complete them in order to unlock the map meta... and from there it's a pretty nuts battle.  =)

It would be cool if random acts of violence occurred to/in parts of the world and NPC(s) invaded. I heard when Deathwing was having a bad day he would wreck towns which is cool. The "Sleeper" also did this in early EQ. Our resident B.A dragon doing this, or his minions, or underlings or w/e they are would also be a nice addition.

Rift town captures by NPC's were kinda cool.
Going pink Asuras, or going home. (Even the male ones)

i just thought of something what about if certain people randomly were given jobs to actually take on the roles of npc's and attack towns they would have the same energy and strength of the normal npc but they could control it like a human so it would much harder to fight against them because they would be dashing all over the place.

That's "almost' what happened beta 2 weekend!  The Shatter I think flew over the Charr lands causing mass chaos and pandemonium.  If players were killed by the corrupted npcs... they themselves were turned into Corrupted creatures... albeit weaker than regular characters, but en mass were able to kill off other players.  As they did so... more and more players were converted into the corrupted... like a mass zombie game!

Can just imagine it fighting the end of the world, losing and all characters get wiped.

I'm sure they have events planned but would guess frequency would be partly dependent on how well the gem store goes and how much time can be invested into them, I would guess that the beta weekend events were a trial run to see how popular ideas were.
