I've heard rumours that if you delete a character, for the next 24 hours you're the only one who can use that name, allowing you to remake a character without worry that someone else can grab the name while you're making it.
This means that on release, you could rush character creation to grab a name, then remake the character at your own pace to put in the time and care needed.

Is this true? Has it been tested? I can't find anything concrete anywhere on it, and want to be prepared for release.

i think that the character is 'not actually deleted' but disabled for 24h i think, shld u have 2nd thoughts of coming back, you wont regret deleting it.
Therefore the name will be held for 24h.
Could be longer i think. Correct me if i m wrong

That was how it worked in Guild Wars and I think they said it will work the same in Guild Wars 2.

Between this forum, the wiki, and google, the only thing that I could find was stuff about reserving GW1 names in GW2, so I bow to your advanced screenshot wisdom.

I only know about that pic because I was searching for the exact same information a couple of days ago and it led me to this site
