Now I KNOW this choice has a lot to do with situation, which build your running, and personal playstyle....that said...everyone tends to favor one more then the other. I am currently using Healing Turret, but would like to try and use Med Kit instead. I just seem to be having a tough time with it compared to the HT. Have not played much WvW mostly spvp. So would like to know from WvW players who have more experience there.

Just wanted some other opinions....maybe get a good discussion going.

Thanks :P

Depends. In a elixir build, elixir H is best. But not in many other situations.

In turret, and kit builds, I notice the healing turret build does best.

In all other cases, I just use the med kit.

I prefer medkit, but then I was running ten in tools for Speedy Kits (the swiftness boon) and always switched into it.

I actually would agree that the medkit is pretty good, but the heals from the medkit are pretty useless, the only worthwhile one is the toolbelt skill. I do like the elixer H, and the healing turret has seemed useless to me almost the entire time because I don't plan on staying right next to it in PVP just to get smacked around by AoE skills.
So the obviously answer here is the elixer and medkit. They both have different purposes

When using the medkit, try to run directly in a straight line away from your enemy when you are healing up and press all of the skills as soon as possible, if you are in combat and they are applicable, you can benefit from every single skill in the medkit which overall is the best heal in the game if you get all of your medpacks + condition remover + fury/swiftness buff, and with speedy kits or leg mods this is really good for just natural speed as well, but yeah elixir H and healing turret can be better its just dependant upon the build like you said.

Very true, though I would just add that if you pop #5 (swiftness), first, you can gain some separation very quickly. I noticed exactly what you stated that running in a straight line will "pick up" the buffs. Good stuff.

The toolbelt skill is your personal heal. Since you have to switch to the medkit to use its abilities, that's a huge disadvantage so they made the toolbelt skill your self-heal. The kit skills are meant to be party support.

Best part of medkit is defending a point and just having 6 medpacks and 2 condition removals down at all times ready for any opponent to come. Without any +healing those 6 medpacks will heal you for 6k and you can freely remove 2 conditions. Saves your self-heal for a latter time. Thankfully they have finally fixed the issue of medpacks falling into the ground.

It depends heavily on your spec.

Healing Turret: Good for a support spec or turret spec. Delivers AOE regen once deployed and can be overcharged to remove conditions in addition to a minor heal. My idea of where this could be useful is in dungeons or any group related activity.

Medkit: Good for general specs which do not focus on the trait line alchemy. Toolbelt heal is a little less powerful than elixir h but benefits from a spec in tools. When equipped you gain 3 new heals, 1 condition removal, and 1 swiftness ability.

Elixir H: Not the best choice for specs that do not focus heavily on the alchemy trait line. Only one heal attached to random boons and a toolbelt which is a random boon.

My personal favorite is the healing turret. Heal, remove all conditions, waterfield + blast finisher :P
