How often do you think you'll play GW2? I know it hasn't been released yet but i can tell I'll be playing for a long time. Seeing as how there are no subscription fees players won't feel as if they have to play as much as they can in hope to maximize their money's worth. However, this also means a player can play as much as they want whenever they want, if they so choose. Was just curious to see how the community will take advantage of this. As for me, I'll probably play as much as I did in the first Guild Wars. I can picture myself playing 15-20 hours a week, taking a break every now and then when I get bored or desire to play another game. How about you?

I have a bad feeling I'm gonna no-life the first two months of this one.

Unfortunate, as I've already pre-ordered Borderlands 2. I don't see myself rushing to finish that one when it releases.

Ask me how often I will sleep instead... it'll be a shorter list.

I'm gonna make it last! I'd say 1-2 hours a day if I'm working; 2-3 hours a day if I'm off. I still wanna be playing and discovering new things this time next year.

I took launch week as holiday from work so I'll play a lot then. Once I'm working again I won't have quite as much time to play. I'll still play for at least a little every evening after work, and definitely a lot on weekends!

I expect 5-6 hours a day for the first few months, possibly tapering off after that. We will see, but I can see myself playing this game regularly for years.

I played GW1 for 1300ish hours in 7 years. I wouldn't be surprised to reach that within the first year with gw2

Everyday! Some people like television, me I like my games amongst other activities (playing violin, reading etc). The cool thing is that since GW2 has no endgame grind or level to reach before WvW, I don't feel rushed to get maxed level. I know I can log on and take my sweet time and RELAX while playing the game instead of being in a speed race to keep up with friends.

I'll probably play maybe one other game a year if Anet can keep the content coming on a regular basis, along with a similar paid expansion release schedule to the original (smaller expansions like the dominion of winds), as well as a new continent every year or so.

I will play every day. In GW1, over the last 5 years, I have played over 8,146 hours. GW2 will get at least that many hours, if not more. I have no life.

Not as often as I would like to, my fall semester starts August 27th, I also have a part time job, and a girlfriend. I guess I'll have to make time for her too, right..? This year I won't be taking a winter break because I want to take extra classes. So next summer is going to be my next window for 24/7 sessions of GW2.

Basically when ever I have free time or not studying, I will be in front of my computer. I'll make sure to pay extra attention during class so I don't need to study ;) even though GW2 will be on my mind...

on weekdays, probably 4 hours a day at most... that makes 20 hours

on weekend probably 20 hours...

so that makes around 40 hours a week....

Often.  At least an hour a day for sure, as much as it takes to be getting the daily achievements out of the way each day.

Quite often, several hours a day most days of the week. I'm using this game to supplement the drought of good games elsewhere. I have a PS3 as well, and when I look on Gamefaqs at the list of games coming out in the next handful of months, I have only: Dark SOuls: Prepare to die edition, Dishonored, Dragon Crown, Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, and....that's it. This console generation is absolutely the biggest letdown ever, it doesn't bode well for gaming. If it weren't for the fact that computer gaming is still pretty decent, particularly because of indie developers, I wouldn't be playing games at all. So I'm gonna play GW2 hardcore while waiting for other games to come out, I'll play them, then go back to GW2, repeat.

I have an overbearing anxiety involving my work atm, so I am totally unsure of how much I will be able to play. Hopefully at least a couple of hours a day; I would feel short changed if I did not get in a fair 10-15 hours a week.

At max I'll run at 24 hours a week.

As has been pointed out, the lack of subscription fee compels me to play as much as I WANT to play, rather than as much as I think I should play. I feel like I take a more healthy approach to playing MMOs that come with a flat financial investment over a subscription fee, and that's a good thing. The sooner everyone else cottons onto it, the better ;D

I hope Santa brings you just what you want!

Probably an hour a day at most. Most likely it'll end up being an hour or two per week. Once school starts I'll either be in the lab 40 hours a week on weekdays and out with friends on weekends, so I might play for a couple hours each weekend afternoon. Once it's break, I'll be playing 3 or 4 hours a day. In the end I know GW2 will be waiting for me when I'm ready to play it and I won't have to pay an extra dime. Perhaps a couple pennies or even nickels but dimes are right out.

I had to like your post because, as someone who totally lacks the ability to apply himself academically, I envy your dedication :) Good job, sir, for making the appropriate decisions as to how to spend your time :) It'll pay off eventually... unless of course society collapses. Then you're pretty screwed :o

Well, since I'll be leaving to England for a student exchange in mid-September, I expect that I will play a few hours nearly every day before going. I don't know how the game reacts to campus network (but the accommodation letter said the Internet access allows you to add game consoles, too, so I'm thinking Guild Wars 2 should be fine) so I don't know if I will be able to play at all, but if I can, I expect I won't have much time for that in the beginning of the term. :) Lots of adjusting and getting to know people taking place, so playing games will have to step aside. Maybe one or two hours before bed or during quiet times. Once things calm down, I think I'll have more time for GW2 but it's impossible to say how much or how often I'll play. Most like every day, or almost every day, though. That's a nice link home because my brother plays as well.
