Note: Confirmed, it does affect you.

"Nearby allies gain Might for 5s when you land a Critical hit."

Does anyone know if you also gain 5s Might, or does it only apply to allies?

----------------

There are mutiple skills/traits that say something like "to nearby allies" but actually affect you as well; and then there are others that say something like "to you and nearby allies", but mean the same exact thing.

For example, "Retreat!" and "Stand Your Ground!" both affect yourself and allies, but they each read:

"Retreat!": Grant aegis and swiftness to up to five nearby allies.

"Hold the Line!": Grant stability to yourself and allies.

This is what I remember from BWE#3:

- Range, 600 AoE around you.
- Roots you in place.
- Heals for about 600 with no +healing.
- If you try to move during the channel, it cancels.
- If you cancel early, you still get the heal.

Empowering Might is an Honor trait. Empower is a Staff skill.

I asked this question to someone before the previous stress test and they reported back to me that it does affect you. I didn't get to check it for myself however.

I'm curious about testing this out with Altruistic Healing (provides a self heal when you give a boon to allies.)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe every ability in the game that applies to allies affects you as well.  You're considered an ally of yourself.

This ability applies the affect to you and everyone within a 400-500 radius with might per crit.

In my group offensive boon build 0/20/30/20/0 I use this to buff up mine and the warriors damage before a coordinated burst.
I myself can average 3-5 stacks consistently.

But basically they need to be fairly in melee range of you to get the might stacks.

Yepp, thx for that aodan, just one more question, how much critchance do you have? Just so i know what it takes to have 3-5 stacks running.

I assume you have no boonduration increasing runes or points in virtue.

0/20/30/20/0 so yes no Boon Duration, most mights I think last for 4s after initial. I used Knight Neck + Zerk Jewel so I sat at ~47% crit

I tried testing it with Alturistic healing, thinking it would be a crazy good build, but Alturistic Healing didn't give healing for every stack applied/re-applied.

The build isn't that great, because 3-5 stacks although fairly consistent, isn't enough to really improve overall damage as it's application is melee range.

Also the big reason to use this is that if every application of the boon(s) proc'd Alturistic Healing (which i saw only do 95hp-125hp)

thanks for the link. What would be a good stacking might build for guardian?

Try this as a base. You get 6x Might when you swap weapon sets, you gain 5s Might whenever you critical hit (you get a base +15% critical and +300 precision from Radiance), and you get 3x Might when you use Virtue of Justice.

With this as a base, you should be able to sit at around 10 stacks minimum, with a max of around 20.

I can confirm that Empowering Might can apply on yourself and works with Altruistic Healing (73 heals with no +healing).  I used an offensive 0/30/20/20/0 with semi-support as a might boon bot (reaching 10+ with ease):

http://gw2skills.net...NrKGZcyYXxLjZGA

With 81% crit (100% when I pop "Save Yourselves") and decent crit damage, I can stack up mights and pull out respectable damage.  The Earth Sigil is there to keep up a condition for "Radiant Power"- 25 Radiance minor trait since I usually do SPvP alone.

the staff plus 5 in virtues puts you at 9 stacks right off the bat. grab a GS and empowering might with decent crit and it wouldn't be hard to start a battle at 10+ stacks. you could put a sigil of battle on another weapon you intend to swap to and have 12 stacks at the start of battle.

what do you think about this build?

0
20
30
20
0

79% crit +63% crit damage
Altrusitic healing +Empowering Might
30% aoe heal + 30% aoe fire damage on crit for groups, 30% aoe fire + 30% life steal on crit for solo
scepter/focus for ranged dps (personally I love this combo the best)
Purity + signet of resolve for removing negative conditions
Searing flames to remove positive boons on enemies

Nope.

PvE and PvP level 80 stats will actually be similar though.

Instead of having stats from armor and other accessories like PvE, ArenaNet decided to simply put all of those stats on the Amulet for PvP and have the rest of the gear plain.

What would be a minimum crit chance for this trait to work effectively? My current build has 3,4k attack and a 41% crit chance. Would this be enough to keep the Might boon up during battles?
