Your Profession starter armor. Bank it or trash it?

Though I have a habit in other games of trashing my starter clothing once I get some decent drops, I caught myself wanting to do the same thing in GW2 untill I had a look of the other armor sets in game and realized, whoa, I better bank this unique looking hood and maybe transmute it down the road, because nothing else really looks like it.
How many of you will be banking your unique starter item and perhaps mix and matching it up with other gear and armor sets down the road as you get higher level? Especially once you unlock more dye colors people could become creative and make a unique look using the transmutation stones. Anet did a great job making nice looking armor even at low levels.
So what’s your plan? Bank the armor or trash it?

Can you transmutate items which are soulbound to other characters? I tried to give my necromancer's face paint to my mesmer, but it didn't work. I guess there's always the possibility I didn't use the transmutation stone properly...
No clue actually lol... O well, I can always hope

Edit, now that I think about it, don't remember finding any of the other class specific items, though...

The "normal" starter class armor like the spaulders, helmets or hoods weren't soulbound, at least not in the beta. Maybe the face paint is something special?

We are talking about the stuff you get from personal story, from the first question, I think.

In particular I'm not fond of the mask that Thieves get, or the gem that elementalists get. I don't really like things that obscure my characters face.
Hoods and hats I can deal with somewhat, but masks or floating gems are a big turn off.

i don't see any reason why it should be starters unique gear, that would only makes it for the player more problematic.
