The Living shortbow Is based of an exact weapon from the original guild wars called the dryad bow. It was one winners of the player submitted weapon concept contests. It too features a female form inscribed in the bark shaft of the bow.

The image of the char with the felblade is of an in game npc found within a pvp zone.

Tomorrow durring the Stress Test I'll snap better in-game shots of Rytlock's fiery dragon sword. Also i remember someone mentioning there is also an npc wielding the Icy Dragon Sword in the Norn area. I'll be on the lookout for him and other npcs garbed in heratige items.



I remember a quote bout the Ruins of the Halls of Monuments being accessed via an npc in your Character's Personal Home Instance. However its interesting to note there does seem to be a Portal Stone...Something tells me this item will be obsolete due to the ambiguous details and short hand of H.o.M.

The Icy Dragon swords can be found in Snowden Drifts and dual wielded by Icebrood Norns.

Yeah, the original guild wars released the Icy Dragon Sword as a special Holiday gift in 2005. To obtain the sword, you had to travel through two zones and find yourself within a secluded cave filled with ice imps. There and only there could you hope to obtain it as a random drop from those imps.
I made a killing selling them the first few days they were released.

In respects to Guild Wars 2, I think its very likely it will become an obtainable weapon for players via the content in Guild Wars 2. On the other hand, I think the Fiery Dragon sword will always be a novelty item exclusive to the players tied to the heritage of the first game. An exception to this statement would be the future obtainment (or temporary use) of Legendary Weapons like Sohothin or Magdaer, which are both exactly similar to the Fiery Dragon Sword. The Char Rytlock now wields Sohothin, which became a major aspect of the Book Edge of Destiny (Specifically Logan's initial jealousy over the Char's possession of a legendary Human Weapon).

The where abouts of Magdaer however, is unknown. It likely still rest somewhere in the Ascalon ruble, as it was this sword which unleashed the magic spell that shattered the City. That stated, I think we will most likely get our hands on Magdaer to use as an Environmental Weapon during a relevant storyline mission in the area. In the char zone, one of the Meta Events features an underwater mini-dungeon inwhich players eventually must find a sword to open a gate. I personally wielded this massive 2h stone sword and my mesmer skill bar swapped into a combination of Warrior & light emitting guardian skills.

I will say I am not a huge fan of the completely blue-frosted hilt.
The original featured a dark silver hilt which seemed by contrast, visually more interesting:

Ah, I love the raccoon mini.  xD As soon as I saw one in beta I think I had a cuteness explosion. lol.

That said, I'm looking forward to a lot of the skins,  like most others the armor skins are definitely of interest aswell.

Edit: the reason for there being two of the same is for the purposes of Stereo Free-viewing. The Mini's are in converge format (commonly known as cross-eye 3D).

Well I sure am not complaining.
Just wondering what Arenanet thinks of it.

I'm glad I've got enough points for the Orrian Baby Chicken, should go together great with my Asura Necro.
Probably makes it look bigger since Asura are so small.

Go pug Domain of Anguish a few times on your main account. It takes about 3-4 clears to get a tormented weapon which gives you one HoM point. The current Meta Frostway is a very fun build to run, and proves to have a high success rate with pugs.

I'm actually at 29 minipets on that account so I'm waiting for the next bday to roll around. Either that or finally finish up the last 2 quests for the black moa chick that I've been putting off forever.

The Non Disclosure Agreement was lifted after the most recent slew of public Beta Test. Also Anet has explicitly stated those who have pre-purchased the game, downloaded the files, and participated in the Stress Test are not obligated by a NDA.

Consider how much attention is gathered from players like myself who enjoy sharing news of GW2 to players who haven't played or know little of other player's interests. It's a marketing advantage, and also a community building play on their part. I'd imagine sites like MMo-champion have served as shining examples of preemptive viral campaigning in their comprehensive strives to Data-mine and show the player audiences new and exciting things to come.

I know that all the HoM skins will be obtainable as transmutation items in our home instance, but have they told us the specific details about where and how we will actually get access to our HoM skins? They only have like 16 days left to release the info.
