If I got this right, Sylvaris are plants. The racial armor looks really nice but some of the other armor really does not suit them. They look way better naked.

I wish we could have an option to have naked Sylvaris, with the private areas hidden by leaves ofc

This is in the game... Sylvari can be naked with petals covering their genitalia... Heck. you come out of the Pale Tree in your birthday suit.

If you mean they should still be able to wear armor but APPEAR naked, no. Take it all off or put it all on.

if im correct the sylvari have no genitalia (as least not like humans/mammals), but i expect to keep the rating of the game normal there need to be leaves

Not only do they have Genitalia but they can(and do) have sex. they just don't reproduce the same way.

Hehe, this is such a funny thread in so many ways.
Firstly, this game is designed for the American market (amongst others) so even the use of the word "naked" will send shivers down the spine. Nudity is serious stuff, torture and murder are not nearly as taboo.
Secondly, just because the Sylvari are plants does not mean they do not have genitalia. What do you think flowers are? Flowers are the sexual organs of plants. I have often wondered why people who venerate the beauty of plant reproductive organs consider the display of animal reproductive organs to be so offensive. Some people are just inconsistent, I suppose.
Thirdly, the Sylvari just look like humans (well, almost), so those two bumps on the "chests" of female Sylvari are not breasts (mammary glands) but just...bumps. The same logic would apply to ... er ... lower down.
In game, we have no idea about Sylvari reproductive biology, but there is little reason to assume it will resemble mammalian reproductive biology. Perhaps those leaves that cover one or three spots, depending on gender, are not clothing but in fact actual parts of the Sylvari body; in which case they are naked when they arrive. (I won't go in to the strange reasoning that leads to the conclusion that it is apparently perfectly ok to see male nipples but not female nipples )
In the end, you can't expect Anet to buck the strange social rules that govern (most of) our societies.

From what level is it possible to get armor like that? So far I have only seen it on NPCs and on pictures (the racial armor, i think you need to  be lvl80).

Actually you can get the armors as soon as you have the gold.  You get them from the Sylvari culture armor vendors.  You can then transmute the high level look onto your low level stated item, or so I have heard.  Rather expensive way to go about things but it can be done.  The level 30 cost a gold apiece, the level 60 cost ten gold a piece and the level 80 cost 20 gold a piece.

Yes, we need to be covered in synthetic fibers to be natural.

Why does a mother need to explain to a child what being naked is? Surely it is common knowledge what being naked is, and I'm guessing the PEGI advisory of 12 means that it's their problem if they let a child under 12 play and the child is confused/offended/frightened or whatever the "danger" here is, and any child over 12 should be able to comprehend the concept of being naked.

Well in sPvP you can.  Since all the armor stats come from the amulet, it really does not matter what you wear (or don't wear).

That is for stat bonuses only.  The armor rating and rune (?) effects still rely on the armor set you are wearing.

I'm looking all over for the Sylvari Cultural Armor vendors, but can't find them. Can someone please tell me where they are?

In fact, I could find no vendors at all in my home instance.

... I think you'll quite simply find them in the city itself, not your home instance. Asura culture armor vendors were in Rata Sum.

Sylvari are not embarrassed about being naked.

They are embarrassed when other races are offended by their nakedness. That is why they wear clothes.

A Sylvari with no armor equipped is naked with leaves covering their "private" parts.

But armor servers a purpose in most cases. I can envision some basically-naked Scholar armor, but Adventurer and Soldier armor sets are literally there to protect the wearer from harm, and I don't see why Sylvari would eschew that benefit just because they're comfortable with their bodies.

This suggestion would destroy any chance GW2 has of keeping an M rating in the USA. Both sexes are supposed to have versions of human genitalia according to an Arenanet post or interview a while back, so that would be a definitely no-go option, and while the girls don't have nipples or anything you could even call a functional breast the ratings boards would still have a field day with this.

The only way it would work is if sylvari males and females were a single character creation option, with all the current options lumped in and - even then - some of the more overtly feminine stylings would probably have to go if the censors were going to be appeased.

Well armor is there for a reason to you know be protected.  And a lot of armor matches sylvari very well if you dye them to match your sylvari's color scheme
