Does anyone find the Black Borders around the edges distracting?

That is when they get red and distracting as I said before. x_x (In down state they are worse)
And it seems that they change from area to area. And when you hide the UI, they dissapear.

@above: oh no no no, that kind of 'at a glance' stuff has to stay. That pulsating border, while distracting as it may be to some, tells you anything from whether you're confused to bleeding... without having to flit your attention span to a tiny little icon tucked away somewhere around the UI.

Now, to answer the question: I like it. This game is incredible artistic in every way. It is 100% art, love it.

When you hide the UI (Ctrl + Shift + H) they disappear:
They're part of the "bleed" system that turns the edges of your window red as you're losing health and coming close to being downed.

Thanks for explaining all this. I don't actually mind the red indicator that you are bleeding, most games do that.
I just don't see the point of it being there permanently All The Time.
People pointed out that it's like a picture frame. Well, walking with a picture frame around your face is weird, for me.
PS. Jokerx7, what do you mean by change from area to area? 'What' changes?

Now, I never play GW1 so don't judge me if that's how it has been.
I find the Black Borders in GW2 distracting and messy.
I mean I feel like I'm playing in a wonky resolution, usually we try NOT
to have any black borders at all cost, so I dunno.
And they especially don't look good in videos and pictures.

I never paid any attention to it. But now that you so thoughtfully pointed it out it could cause a distraction
What has been seen cannot be unseen.

I said that because she said exactly what I said 3-4 mins before, except for that. xD
Same black borders:

So maybe they change when you go through loading screens or something similar?

I've been playing since the second beta weekend and it hasn't been an issue once.

An option to disable it would be nice; more options can't hurt.

a small picture frame does that job well... i'd like it with the UI disabled as well... makes a great background wallpaper for my screen
