Yeah, they are more like "Jumping Challenges" and not "Puzzles". But they are really fun. :D
Anyway, I hope that they get harder on higher zones, once you get used to the low level zones jumps they become easy.

Maybe you should have thought about that before you wrote the title of the thread, it's not exactly subtle is it? Genius.

I have no experience whatsoever in jumping puzzles, so I found them hard to get through (the ones like Goem's Labb, not vista puzzles) and I had to stop several times along the way so I could watch the graphic effects and realize which way to go because you'd often be presented with multiple path ways and you'd go through one only to find out you should've gone through the other one in order to activate some portal or something.

As hard and frustrating as I found them (I'm sure they weren't for a lot of people), I still had a lot of fun. Heck, I spent close to two hours just for Goem's Labb... And they're completely optional. You don't get anything except some experience and normal loot from playing them (and an achievement, I think?), so, why the heck not? It's not like you'll miss anything important from skiping them. They're there for those who appreciate it and it's a very small awesome detail.

Again, this coming from someone who has no previous experience with platform-esque games that found the jumping puzzles excruciating, but still a lot of fun.

They aren't a problem for me then. My IQ is said to be way above average. ^^

But tbh, haven't tried them yet. But just the name jumping puzzle makes it sound like those could get really annoying at some point.... :-/ And the point of those puzzles, kill time.

I assumed someone was gonna write that, and yes. I could. But that's beside the point. The question was if anyone though they were fun, and clearly some do, I'm not here to talk smack, just posing a question.

Well it didn't realy sound like if you are only curious about people's opinion. To me it just sounded like you wanna let us know that you find them easy and useless.
Don't forget we didn't see many high-lvl zones with their jumping puzzles, most probably we will see harder puzzles there just like harder DEs.
To be honest i think the jumping puzzle in WvWvW is quite fun and challenging.

Ok, we could just call them, "Points of interest for Idiots".  Or, "Derp Puzzles"  What say you?

I did some vistas that needed some platform jumping. Took a couple times to get it. I wish there was some out of combat buff or something you can get to make your jumps a little more responsive or floatly. A little hiccup meant you fell all the way down and had to start over :(

Vistas, jumping puzzles, map completion - all totally brilliant (for me as an explorer). Many thanks to Anet.

In my opinion, they don't add the kind of depth of content that I expect out of an MMORPG.

Also, it's a platformer mechanic that doesn't do well due to the nature of MMO engine optimization.

Used sparingly, it would have been cool. But as an extensive form of content? Eek.

There are some very challenging jumping puzzles as you go along. Especially ones that lead to a skill point or other secret.

You weren't clear and you weren't simply asking a question. Your snide comment about anyone with an IQ is going to get you snide responses. So don't act surprised.

Anyway, they aren't my favorite thing that's for sure, but it add something to the game and I'm all for more content and more things to do. There is no reason NOT to have jumping puzzles, so why not? It's nothing mandatory, just a nice distraction.

But no I do not find them fun, however I think they provide a nice variety and challenge when it comes to getting all the skill points and go after the map completion.

That's due to not really being an engine built for this kind of precise, responsive control.

But, my hunch is they'll figure out some sort of buff for the cash shop that will make them more palatable.

I think they were just showing off their superior technology in not having wall/terrain DC issues  :D

Great fun, some are very difficult and include mini-bosses that can't be solo'd, traps set off by other players, in pvp areas, etc.  Plus adds a great aspect to world exploration since so many are hidden.

Well, that wasn't my intention at all, and I'll admit to, "write first and think later" half the time. I guess I was trying to put my own subjective thoughts as well as the question in the title, which wasn't very smart obviously :-)

Just think about this, OP. There were TONS of people who'd jump ledges that they weren't supposed to, just to see if they could get to the very top and see the other side. This is how people in WoW first found Hyjal in Winterspring, which was pretty cool because of the lore. People also did it in Stormwind to get up on the gate for no other reason than to have a nice view of the people dueling down below. I'm actually pretty sure ANet got the idea from a combination of platform games AND knowing people jumped these invisible ledges in other MMO's for fun.

It's a fun activity outside of the norm that people do for various reasons. So, yes, it's fun.

LOL, it's probably best if you just stop now before you embarrass yourself any more than you already have.

Don't like them, avoid them.

Serioiusly, is it that *ing hard? It's unbelieveable the amount of people that bitch about things that are 100% optional in the game.

Somebody with an average IQ would know that jumping puzzles don't measure IQ at all. They measure your sense of 3D space (the jumping), possibly your understanding of the game and in the best cases your imagination when you need to figure out a harder route, which doesn't happen in all puzzles as it can be challenging for some players. Not every puzzle can be very, very hard.

As for do I think that they're fun? Yes I do. Of course the simplest ones (vistas) aren't all that challenging and should they be placed in a bland, grey room, I wouldn't enjoy them. To me the point of the puzzles is to see the surroundings. They provide remarkable views (not only vistas). In best cases the jumping puzzle is hidden so that you find the starting platform by accident. If one doesn't watch all the videos about the puzzles, I'm sure that these precious moments can happen to every player during their PvE experience.

i like em.. me and my mates spend time in most games seeing exactly what can be climbed or not. Some are large enough to require checkpoints and have a loot chest at the end. Take em or leave em they dont have to be done. Its just an extra layer of things to do if you are so inclined.

Do you EVER stop moaning and being negative, some of your points are relevant but are mostly ignored because you moan about everything. Every thread for months now.... sheesh, the very sight of your forum picture has become like sandpaper being rubbed on my soft parts.

I really love the jumping puzzles. They're a great way to break up the "Kill Everything Everywhere" dance that can happen sometimes when you get over-focused on a single task. Plus, they're a huge bonus for explorers, who usually get short shrift in modern MMOs, since most devs don't want to encourage players to go off the rails.

The question wasn't if I could skip them or not, but rather if other people found them fun.
I'm not gonna argue with people who say they find them fun just because I don't agree. I'm shocked at how offended people get :S
Maybe i used a bad set of words, but I don't deserve to be burned for it, geez. Ya'll need to chill :)
