Horses! An off hand weapon, NOT a mount!

Don't think of it as a mount, think of it as an off hand weapon that looks like a guy on a horse.
I also removed the toughness, since that was an unpopular idea, and nerfed the speed, as again having a fast speed was unpopular as well.
1. Movement speed increased by 10%, while in use.
2. Players have their hot bars altered when using the horse off-hand weapon.
Slot 1, 2, 3 = The slots of their current main hand, 1-h weapon. No 2-h or off handed weapons allowed.
Slot 4 = Front attack. Equal to a warrior mace attack (Damage: 269).
Slot 5 = Rear attack. Equal to a warrior hammer attack (Damage: 370), to targets at rear of mount.
3. When downed, the horse off-hand weapon is un-summoned, and player goes into normal downed state. When revived, the horse off-hand weapon is re-summoned, with the player back in the saddle.
4. As the horse off-hand weapon is a weapon, it can be purchased for 1 Gold, and there is one type of each race.
Unlike the Asuran battlesuit, the horse off-hand weapon can only be used by the owner.
Remember, its an off hand weapon, NOT a mount!

Edit: besides, are horses gonna drop as loot, because I know other off hands do.
Edit: oh. Wait. They can't, because horses are mounts

But I have an even better idea, Flying Warhorns!
You see they look like offhand weapons, but in fact they are mounts.
When you ride them your offhand skills change into new mount specific skills. It's almost like an offhand but it's not! It's a mount! It will be animated with fire coming out of the opening so it has thrust like a rocket.
Concept art:

It is not ridiculous at all, just like your idea.

It changes my skill bar by stepping on my face and downing me.

Let's see....a weapon that gives a run speed bonus just by equipping it? Smells like a mount.
A weapon that summons a horse or other thing you ride upon? Looks like a mount.
How is this not a mount again?
Now I saw this applied in Mortal Online. You clicked on a figurine and it would summon a mount. It worked there since the gameworld sucked and there was too much space and no teleports. Wouldn't work as well here.
If it did work though, Why not go gangbusters with all the types of mounts. Summon a hovercraft for the Asura. Or summon a great Mammoth for the Norn. Summon a mechanised horse with tank tracks instead of legs for the Charr. Summon a Spider for Silvari. Summon a Marmox for the Humans.
Each of these give no run speed but do look cool and change your entire left bar to specialized skills that unlock giving you the first 2 to start and the other 3 with practice. These skills could be where things get interesting since they would have to do with the style of each mount.
The Hovercraft skills would be
skill 1::: 10% speed increase for 10 seconds with 25 second refresh.
skill 2::: frost cone from rear adds chilled effect for 5 seconds with 15 second refresh.
skill 3::: Blowtorch from front causing more damage the close enemy is for 5 seconds with refresh of 15
these are obviously examples that would actually work within the world and not really break anything. They would just use already existing mechanics and be added fun.

The reason I don't like the idea of mounts (or offhands that looks like mounts wtf) is that the mere idea of charr riding on anything seems almost gamebreaking for me, I mean it would seem so weird and wrong with the charr.
I can't exactly see norn using something like that either, they big tall and badass, no need for it.
The only races that would actually look good on a mount is sylvari and human. And you can't really add something that big to only 2 races.
Had it been like in GW1 and humans were the only playable race, I would have been all for mounts. But as it stands mounts just does not fit. I certainly don't hope Anet listenes to all these people that want mounts, cause Im gonna cry the day I see a charr on a mount.
