So, I love rangers, and my favourite skill animation in the entire game is a ranger skill: Hunters Call - for those who don't know it/haven't had the joy of experiencing it, it summons a crap-tonne of hawks who swoop down and peck at the skull of your foe in a flurry of feathers, screeching and chaos - WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE?

However, I keep seeing it in other people's beta vids that there is a graphical mechanic to do with scaling that makes hunters call seem ridiculous. The same scaling concept that when asuras pick up a hammer, that same hammer is scaled up for a norn so that the weapon looks proportional (note that this also works for environmental weapons..and actually I think it looks a bit silly there too but nevermind...)

Skill animations also scale up by the looks of it, depending not on the size of the caster (as would make sense...) but the size of the creature being attacked with it - this results is some RIDICULOUS scaling - having massive great griffin hawks swooping down on veteran bosses, or even larger races like charr/norn  (I have attached an example from an asura starter area).
I can only imagine someone summon them on the Shatterer....

Does anyone else have experience of this? does it bother anyone else? (I mean...hawks are the size of hawks >.> scaling it seems like a silly oversight) am I just being neurotic? :P Anyone know if Anet plans to fix it? >.<

I LOVE IT! I have noticed this a few times but not to that extent!

To be honest i would be like 'that's right..... that's me attacking the boss' haha

Wow.  I actually really like that.  It's going to create some pretty memorable moments when hawks the size of elephants come swooping down on one of the elder dragons.  Keep it the way it is, I say.

This makes ranger instantly the coolest profession in game.

There nothing as awesome as calling the Great Eagles from LotR on your enemies.

lol okay fine...even though it's going to ruin my RP (sob) :P I'm just being a grumpy old woman then xD

I still think they should rescale...it looks ridiculous -.-

This is a good example of a quirky detail that came about unexpectedly that I really enjoy about the game.

Yeah I noticed this too, and I reported it as a bug. As hilarious as it may seem, I wouldn't like it in my final game...
