We even decided to replace skype with C3 so we didn't have to call eachother while we're gaming.
Thank you Helion for your nice advice. Really appreciated!

Well, I think that we should just go with C3 in that case.

Also, you might want to edit the original topic.. If you have the time of course. Let everyone know that we are going to use C3.
You can add this code to the original topic to make the tutorial I made appear when they click the spoiler. That way everyone will know how to connect to our C3 channel once the game is out.
After that, I think we're about ready to go.
If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.

I'll be there on day one, but if the servers go up early I won't be able to attend the Headstart immediately.
Also, you thoughts on this.

If you're talking about using the public Mumble server for our guild. I would not recommend this. Even though it'll work. We won't have a private channel, we won't have admin rights to ban/kick players that are unwelcome in our channel. And there will be NO password (since it's public). And I don't think that the Guru moderators will give us those admin rights.
Some guilds do this though. They use a public Vent/TS/Mumble (or any other VOIP) to communicate with one another. But you won't be able to avoid people listening in on your conversation (or even interrupting it).
Mic spammers, Music players and so on our common in public channels. (You can compare this to a TF2 server where everyone is Mic-spamming)
Unless GW2GURU gives us our own channel with our own admin rights (which I doubt they will do) I wouldn't recommend using a public channel for Guild-only purposes. Especially with free VOIP's being brought on the market (Like C3).

Yeah i was thinking the same thing my only question about this service is
how long will they provide it: a day, a week, a month but not the entire year am sure.
So as a we start on day one its a viable option to use since most ppl are accustomed to Mumble
here on guru.
Afterwards we can still change to something els or pay for our own Mumble
before you decide what to use for first day lets w8 for Rennoks thoughts on this
I think he has more exp with both programs.
Edit: haha nvm he beat me to it

But Rennok:

We are able to set up a private Mumble server for you and your guildmates or team. What we require from you:
- The name of your Guild Wars 2 guild;
- The IGN of your guild leader, or the go-to person to contact regarding your server;
- Your email address;
- Your guild website;
- Server password;
- How many user slots you require

Yes, that's true. If they ever decide that it's not worth keeping the servers up we can always go back to C3 (or another VOIP)
Alot, on 19 August 2012 - 11:48 AM, said:
Well, If it's free. I would go with 20. Just to be safe.
BTW, they ask the IGN of our guild leader.. Should I give my name? Or yours (Alot)?
You're going to lead the guild so I guess I'll give them your name?
EDIT: I gave them the name Alot as IGN of the guild leader

Yes, but from experience I can say that people only come online during events and that will probably be 5-10 persons.
There will never be a moment when every guild member is online I think.
I can of course edit the message but how many slots would you like to have?

I think 20 will do fine once the GW2 fever has settled
I won't be online much as well since I am on the Mumble of my other guild.

I edited the message and I asked them to give us 35 spots. But it's a guild only mumble channel so I don't think there will be 20 people online at once. Let alone 35 people. So I guess we'll be alright one way or another. I'll let you guys know when I receive a reply.

Server address: mumble.irexistus.com
Server port: 64763
Server password: bloodandgore
It's a 35 slot server and I also asked if it's possible if we had to upgrade it to a higher amount of slots and they said it shouldn't be a problem in the future.
So if we need more spots, we can get them.
Feel free to connect to the server and register yourself in our server as well to become a full member of the server.
You can do this by right clicking your own name in the tree and then click register.
We'll have to discuss what channels and sub-channels we want to have, to keep everything organized and so on.

are these channels also for dungeon groups
or are they only for PvE DE, if so mby a seperate group for dungeons?
--PvE

Edit: and mby 1 guild officer channel?
I was also thinking that it could be better when we start the invites to
group up in Divinity reach (gardens) so we wont have to spam /w someone while he issent online.

Yes, those channels are for dungeons as well.
I made an admin channel. For those that will manage the mumble server.
I'll make a guild officer channel as well. You'll only get entry when you're actually guild officer. Otherwise access will be denied.
