Hello Guys

After weeks of watching this forum I have finally decided to join the ranks of the Guru community.

I tend to avoid MMO forums due to the majority being 'WoWists' that complain about everything or compare to the, in my opinion, socially floored trinity system, but this place seems to have a fantastic and helpful community that are really excited (I know I am) at this new adventure!

So on to my first question:

I like to indulge in all aspects of an MMORPG,  role playing is one of them.  Has Guild Wars 2 got a lot to offer in terms of mini games, social activities and guild activities.

Don't get me wrong I love the prospect of dynamic events, the PvP, exsploration and PvE but sometimes i like to kick back and 'play around'.

Many thanks

AriaQ

Hey, welcome to Guru first of all! :D

I'm not a roleplayer myself so my opinion won't be educated. However you mentioned mini-games :)

Well... these GW2 definitely has!

There's the wiki list, currently. Personally I loved the keg brawling in the last beta! It's like a mix of rugby and ice hockey, with a keg! :D

Hope that's the sort of thing you were looking for.

Question, feedback or issue? Pm me!

As I understand it, there's actually a server which has already, unoficially, dubbed itself a RP server.  There are definitely a lot of community options and well... guilds.. around (hence the name Guild Wars right?)

They have plenty of things for the player to just mess around and even plenty of environments that scream locations for the RP. Your name seems awfully familiar also, did you play MG on WoW?

ADD: Tarnished Coast is currently the unofficial RP server, if that helps.

Piken Square is the unofficial EU RP server (since you're from the UK)

I have played many a MMORPG, I'm most famous in Legend of Mir 2.  I have played a lot of other games other than RPGs too (Although RPGs are the best gaming genre!!

If GW1 is anything to go by, Anet make the best seasonal events. Ones that actually function as social activites - rather than just personal progression to get another notch on your gear grind belt.

I have high hopes that they will continue in this spirit.
