so we are only allowed to have 2 area specific pets at time?
so if i want to try different pets out, i have to find one and tame it and lose one of the ones i have?
this is a serious drawback to my class selection of a ranger

2 for land 2 for water
you also don't lose pets. You gather them, have seperate tab for them and "equip" whichever you like. Once caught you never lose it.

You can switch your 2 pets to others any time you want, out of combat.

Then why do people think you lose pets when you swap them out of active slots?

What i really miss is a utillity skill to bring out both pets at the same time, or an elite skill to call several of your saved pets for a short time
