I know there are traits that proc certain skill when the right conditions are met (Muddy Terrain is used when a Ranger takes falling damage, Dull Pain is activated when a Warriors health reaches a certain threshold, etc...). What I don't know is whether these skills have to be slotted on your skill bar in order to proc. Or will they proc regardless? If you activated the skill and then the conditions are met, will the skill not proc because it's on cool down? Thanks in advance for any insight into this.

The traits will proc when conditions are met.
Yes some trait has cooldown that is displayed in the description of the trait but there's some that has a hidden cooldown.
The description of traits are not clearly explained but I do hope they are when launch.

Those traits are completely independent from the regular skills. They will proc if you have the skill on cooldown, they will proc if you don't even have the skill slotted.
