Can I pick up the game from GameStop on the 25th or the 3 day headstart, or do I have to use the beta client and wait until the official release to pick up my copy?

you'll get your copy on release.  starting on the 28th you will have 5 days to enter the purchase code from your game,  in order to continue playing.

If you prepurchased thru Gamestop I have no clue, However if you pre-ordered you should have a code that will give you 1 day digital headstart. I dont think you can get a physical copy until the 28th.

You will be able to participate in the head-start if you pre-purchased the game with no additional codes required. Then on the 28th the game launches and you have 5 days to get your copy and enter the retail code.

If you pre-ordered the game you should get a code for the one day head-start and then once the game goes live on the 28th you have 5 days to enter the retail code to continue playing

If you don't pre-purchase or pre-order you will not be able to get a head-start

I believe that is how it works.

After the updater has finished updating, there will be no important* difference between the beta client and the release client. Since the disks would have already been printed, I'd expect the client used for the previous stress test to be more up to date than the client on the disk(s).


*Sometimes the updater doesn't remove a file which is no longer required. Which means that the beta client might take up more space on your hard drive than a freshly installed one.

This is difficult... I already bought the game and I understand I need to pick the game up, but I am going to start playing very far from the location I pre purchased it from. So, I guess I am screwed if I don't get it in the first 5 days... not sure why I need a certain code to play if my account already identifies me as having the game purchased.

I guess I wont argue about it, but it is pretty inconvenient on my end.

ADD: Found out I can transfer my pre purchase through Gamestop to another location closer to me.

I called the Gamestop I pre-purchased at and it took a little bit, but they transferred my information and purchase to the Gamestop of my choosing. It wasn't anything I could do online though.
