Trees with faces at a waterfall - decoration? Ent? Sylvari-made? The new version of the waterfalls at Riven Earth?

Any thoughts? I just found the concept art very interesting myself, no good thoughts.

My gut's telling me Riven Earth or possibly some new area. I think either way it'll be Tarnished Coast, though.

They instantly reminded me of Riven Earth and the many faces that appear in the Tarnished Coast. Though for some reason it looks like they are alive and in pain. Those three figures dont look like they are up to any good aswell...

It looks like Riven Earth has been twisted.

I make of it being epic. Source?

I suppose it could be corrupted Sylvari. Could also be new plant monsters, or a new and improved Warden.

But I need a source to be sure... *checks conceptart.org*

Check the GW2 Site they just put a load up from the artbook. That one (and one of a Charr with a Bazooka) stood out most to me. I instantly thought of Sylvari for obvious reasons....and because the thing behind it looks like a more dangerous version of one of these things:

Just saw, looking through them all.

Hmmm, Kodan Iceberg?

Posted Image
Deep Sea Dragon/Deep Sea Dragon's minion?

Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Something tells me these three creatures are minions of "Grothmar." At the least, the scenery seems the same.

Posted Image
Posted Image
This just in: Sylvary get bows, Charr get RPGs.

Posted Image

The first two look very similar to me, while the third looks like an "evil" version of them. I do think the third is a corrupted/splinter group Sylvari. The first two, the arms and head are very similar to each other. The back of the head looks the same, so does the twig-like parts coming off of the back. In fact, the more I look at the two, the more they look the same.

That looks large and elaborate enough that it's likely a general or the dragon itself..

It isn't "Grothmar" the back doesn't match. But general is possible.

I was thinking Deep Sea Dragon, but the body does seem like it could be a desert wurm that was heavily corrupted and changed by Grothmar.

The scenery suggests desert-like or Blazeridge Mountains. The Deep Sea Dragons and its minions are probably water-based creatures.

The iceberg one is deffently Kodan Iceberg. It has the same huge cave thing in the middle. The other two - i'm not sure on the second one but the third ones body looks lot like Zhaitans minions bodies. The gray stretched over skin look.

I figured they'd be water based, and it appears that the creature in the picture is coming out of water. Or at least, it did seem that way until I realized what I thought was a fog of water was actually a dust cloud, and you can see a long spiked tail behind the creature.

Considering how the Great Destroyer, being the "greatest general" of Primordius leads me to think that this creature may be a dragon just because it appears to be a hundred times bigger than the GD.

Then again, that's really just speculation, because we know things in GW2 will be on a much larger scale than in GW.

So I'm on the line on whether or not it's a dragon or a general at this point.

EDIT: After reading Free Runner's post, I think it definitely could be a general of Zhaitan. The scenery looks like it could very much be Orrian.

The art you quoted doesn't have anything to scale it to, so I dunno how you'd compare it to the Great Destroyer. For all we know, it's the size of an ant.

It doesn't match any known dragons. The only dragon we have nothing to compare it to now is the Deep Sea Dragon.

Some concept art from the site has been added here now, so we get file names.

http://www.guildwars...ildwars2-26.jpg
Filename: Sylvari winter

http://www.conceptar...=1&d=1251415475
One of the jungle scenery - titled Denravi1

http://www.conceptar...=1&d=1251415492
Another of the jungle scenery - titled Denravi3

http://www.conceptar...=1&d=1251415508
One with the druid thing - titled Denravi4

http://www.conceptar...=1&d=1251415535
The possible corrupted Sylvari - titled Summoned

http://www.conceptar...=1&d=1251415576
The Draconic snake creature of discussion earlier - titled CorpseDragon

http://www.conceptar...=1&d=1251415593
Titled "Left Hand of the Dragon"

Two dragon referenced concept arts... o_O

Maybe that "CorpseDragon" was an early concept for Zhaitan?

Yep...I'm betting that these are the nightmares/ corrupted Sylvari.

The large creature's head is the same shape as the uncorrupted version in "The Druid." This further points to the possibility that those large creatures are the companions.

I'm assuming its some kind of contraption used for events in Divinity Reach. Perhaps to lift peoples spirits.

Possibly. I wouldn't want to try to blow it unhindered, though, and humanity does seem to have a tendency to use giant magical wind instruments as weapons - Stormcaller being another example. Idly...

Some more art has been named.

Posted Image

"OrrRing"

Another look at Orr. Fantastic as always.

Posted Image

"CharrSphere" (typo in original name with "Sphere" being "Shpere")

The Charr apparantly created their own death star.

Posted Image

"Norn Intro Shared -Dragon Flying Over -Final"

I had been using the trailer version of this in my dragons thread. Could that dragon be "Grothmar"? however if those are indeed Norn then it wouldnt make sense since the dragon they fought would be Jormag. Also the intro part makes me believe each race is going to get its own intro cinematic. Its not the first piece to be named like this, there was a Charr one with them watching a burning landscape named "CharrLandCinematic". Could be interesting.

Posted Image

"Snow - Dragon Scorched - Orange"

Jormags work? or perhaps Primordus has been effecting the area from down below?

*Plays imperial march* ^^ Awsome looks like a fortress (doubt theyll get that one flying..) the Charr have realy evolved over those 250 years :). If it gets flying though.... I won't want to be on their black list...

Great finds Free. I hope the Charr "Death Star" will be implemented, but it should need an Emperor (Khan-Ur) and the Supreme Commander of the Charr Legions (Lord Vader has that title, not the same, but similar).

Question, Free, where are you getting the name Jormag? I haven't seen that anywhere else, as of yet.

And wouldn't that dragon the Norn are facing make more sense as being Drakkar? I know the appearance of the creature in the artwork is completely different from Drakkar, but otherwise, this means Grothmar landed in the Northern Shiverpeaks, or there are a few lesser Elder Dragons waking up to the party.

Which isn't that far-fetched, considering the concept art we've seen depicting several dragons. The archer in the desert with a dragon peeking at him, the many serpent-like/tendril pieces assaulting humans, and etc.

Sorry, but I can't remember at which part it is mentioned. I think watch the whole video, it's really interesting.

Note: the confirmed name of the dragon in Drakkar Lake is Jormag or Jörmag.
It's also in the video.

But it was aspectacle, who found it first.

At 1:15 Jeff Grubb talks of the ice dragon, Jormag, forcing the Norn to the south. Not sure of the spelling!

Yeah Jeff Grubb (not to be confused with Mike O'Brien) said its name was Jormag. I'm not sure if he intended to say that or if they really dont care about the dragons names being revealed now. Maybe we could get the remaining two from Regina so we can finally stop with the "Grothmar/Deep Sea Dragon" names
