3.2 GHz i7-3930K processor
16 GB DDR3 ram
2 TB harddrive
AMD Radeon HD7970 graphics card
and i was wondering if i could run it high or max?

Max monserat.  Overclock that CPU a bit too, it will help.  Though, don't expect to "max" it under WvW or large meta event battles.  No PC can do that less an HPC or triple concentration based workstation.

You have more machine than I do and I run everything at max except for sound due to the sound bug that sets off an alarm sound (this is a game issue, not a computer alarm).  The only FPS issue I have is in high WvW/Event concentration, normally I run at 60 FPS in all other content.

My machine is based off 2 year old tech but I recently built it.  60 FPS anywhere, down to as little as 15 in extreme conditions.  Even at 15 everything runs fine and it feels frantic, which actually enhances the experience for me.  Not sure if that was intended or it's just my gpu, but I love it.

not maxed. **EDIT  oh snap!! i reread the topic title!!

my wife is playing on a phenom II 910e 2.6ghz with 8gb of ram and a radeon 6770 and she can pump around 45+ fps questing, then 30+ in towns and dungeons.

imho, thats smooth.

but to play the game 60+ fps at all times with max settings?  hell i do that with my i5 3.4ghz, 8gb ram and my radeon 6870.  ive never been below 54ish FPS even in pvp.

It's about time for me to get a new PC and this one seems to be priced about right. Does anyone know if it will run GW2 smoothly at medium to high settings? http://www.bestbuy.c...8&skuId=6980995 I usually run the game in 720p because anything past that and I can't really read the text.
