After i saw the new medium armour for the gem shop i thought a post like this is neened,
(i know these are recycled skins from gw1) for as what i have seen there is alot more armour variation going on with the light and heavy armours while almost every medium armour looks again like its made out of leather or its a long coat/ skirt
i dont mind that it looks like leather but why cant we have a piece of iron chainmale(shoulders) or something like a gladiator outfit, animal skins , steampunk engineers looks  things like that. As it is now i seems they where more focused on the thiefs theme and not so much on rangers or engineers that want to wear something els

So do you guy's feel the same about the medium armours being dominated by long coats on almost every medium armour skin we have seen so far?
This question is ofc aimed at the ppl ho are going to play medium armour professions.

sry for my engl

all armours known so far: http://dulfy.net/201...-collection/#34
Spoiler

to all those ho think i was reffering to skimpy clothing, i dident am pretty much neutral on that topic

Can i plz ask to reffrain yourself about discussions considering skimpynes
this is not the thread to do that as Redstar already pointed out
it dosent matter if your dressed from head to toe or just wearing a bra and a skirt
you can look skimpy eather way.

This disscusion is about variation in armour types and models.
Thank you in advance.

I have two things to say... Variety is the spice of life, so it would be nice to see more armors which didn't hang at our characters ankles. And secondly use a larger font.

Edit: Now your font is too large.

Edit2: I'm just being nit-picky I guess... Use whichever font-size you want. It really shouldn't matter to me.

I personally like the 'long coat look' most medium armors seem to have, but I'm open to non-long coat medium armor too (for people that want it). The more variety the better, I say.

And no more nonskimpy armors for Heavy armor. And no more butt capes for light armor.

I'm really into the long coat look but I agree there needs to be more non-long coat options too.

I like the coats and I really want to see GW1 Ranger Ancient in the store. There shouldn't be a bias, of course, but I really don't agree with "no more".

Yes please!

More variety. I want shorts, skirts (without the leggings), tunics, jerkins, cuirass, brigandines, vambraces, lamellars, mail, etc. So many variations of medium armor, both leather and mail, and some cloth with leather accents. It's a shame that whoever designed medium armor in GW2 has such a limited idea of armor types. They're basically all trenchcoats with bandanas.

I wouldn't mind some more skimpy armor for all the armor classes either, but that's just me.

I agree

I love the coat types, but I also love tight leather. (Cough)

But the same could be said for the light armor.

Agreed. Ironically, the situation was reversed in GW1. I was one of the many people annoyed by the fact that female Rangers didn't get access to all the awesome long coats that male Rangers did until relatively late in the game's history, and only a few options even then. However, this has taken things too far in the other direction. I'd prefer some more sets that had a form-fitting, athletic look - though still being practical in terms of protective covering. And with that in mind...

Fixed that for you. There are plenty of ridiculous metal bras and miniskirts for you to choose from already. Female Vigil armor is ruined for me forever. How about some more heavy armor that actually looks heavy and protective.

Personally, I hate the long coat look. Since I have a thief though, I guess I could go pistol and try for the spaghetti western look....

Some medium armors without the long coats would be really nice.

There are only 3-4 skimpy armors. x_x Of 34+ sets...

4/34 is an 12%. 88% of the armors aren't skimpy. We don't have variety. x_x

Edit: Wrong number, they are 34, 50+ were the weapons.

Hate it. I want more pants, more short skirts. More skin options.. and that goes for light armour too.

I won't even go near heavy, but I want realistic heavy armour, not spikes and 300lb's of metal.

i really really like the look of the "outlaw" armor models, but yes I agree, a bit more variety would be nice. lord knows there are enough models to pull from the medium armor in GW1 to make it happen.

I want variety but in no way do I support the OP, the long coat is not a new concept - for some reason some people think it has something to do with the matrix or something.

Why wouldn't you support the OP?

The long coat isn't a new concept, but it shouldn't be the only concept.

He never said anything about Matrix. o_o (Actually, he said it was a thief like style, not a matrix style) It's just that there are too many long coats.
The same happens in light armor and heavy armor too. xD There are too many butt capes and too many nonskimpy armors. u_u

I want some variety. I like the long coats, but when almost every piece of gear you have is a long coat it gets old, so variety would be appreciated!

I like variety but it seems to be somewhat lacking and tending more towards full body coverage and huge coat things or other fashion abominations.  Realistic or not, I often prefer my character's armor to be a little less "heavy" unless they're wearing plate and/or are a tank type.  I'm not sure GW2 armor is necessarily realistic anyways, it's more of an art style, and I'm not digging the overall style of armor in the game.  It's not something that would ever impact my love of the game since I'm more into gameplay, but I'm not that keen on how the armor looks.  I think anime is garbage too and some of the stuff reminds me of that so go figure.

Fortunately there's transmutation.

I've already been using transmutation even at low levels since the stones are common enough.

First priority should be non-skimpy light armor. That's the main thing missing atm. Nowhere near enough of that.
