Hmm perhaps I put this in the wrong forum. Sorry! Mods are free to move me.

I am a fan of the RP community. I'm a light RPer myself (I usually do a lot of character development stuff out of game and RP minimally to fit that development)

However I also find that role playing communities are a bit more organized when it comes to their PvE play.

It's not true in all cases, but at any rate, since Tarnished Coast looks like it's going to be packed full of sardines....

I was thinking of going to Maguuma. But before I make that decision final I wanted to know if there was any other NA server recommended by RPers looking for low/mid-pop.

From what i heard:
-Ehmry Bay (not many rp'ers and it's mostly that "adult" type of rp.... )
-Stormbluff isle (planned overflow server for rp, but doesn't seem any went there at all )

and some random guilds/people on the other servers but doesn't seem like there's much.

Goon Squad rolled on Maguuma. I suggest avoiding them at all costs.

The RP'rs of Ehmry Bay are mostly LGBT and ERP communities. If you are into that thing go there. Otherwise you will have a tough time finding a RP server.

Sadly RP has become synominous with ERP, when the two have little in common.

To the OP:  Stormbluff Isle is being used as an overflow, and Jade Quarry has a few RP-PvPers there, though JQ is also pretty heavily populated.  The vast majority of North American RPers are going to be on TC at launch, though.

NVm I looked them up.

LGBT (if I am correct in assuming this means lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) I don't really have a problem with. I'm heterosexual, but so long as they respect my orientation I have no reason not to respect theirs.

Erotic RP... not exactly my thing. However I do know Wooden Potatoes (youtuber) is probably not into that sort of thing, and he IS into lore. GW1&2. I'm sure there will be regular RPers there as well as ERPers.

Again, as long as they don't bother me I don't mind/care what they do in their own seperate RPs. As long as they aren't /saying or /yelling lol.

ERP is Erotic Role Play (Sexual Role Play as opposed to normal Role play)
RP is Role Play (as in I role play my character to have fun when I'm in the game, and not trying to have group phone sex with everybody over VOIP services such as VENT, Mumble, or Teamspeak)

Sort of, they're a massive "gaming" community that occasionally singles out a game and drops their entire army in it, using their vast numbers to cause as much havoc as the game allows. They're relatively harmless in GW2, aside from perhaps running into an event area and then doing nothing, thus causing it to scale insanely. They're only as harmful as the game allows them to be, and thankfully Guild Wars 2 has very little avenues for griefing. They're still a bunch of jerkwads for the most part though.

You can check what guilds and alliances have plans to roll on which servers here: http://www.gw2guilds.org.  My advice is Stormbluff Isle, but I'm probably biased, since that's the server I picked.

From what I've seen (it's been a few days since I checked), the vast majority of RP guilds are going to Tarnished Coast, but there appear to be a smattering of RP guilds on almost every server.

And don't forget, even if you end up on a server that you decide later you'd rather not have chosen, you will be able to switch servers for free in the first few days of the game (no bets on how long that lasts, though).

Wrong. RP and ERP have many things in common. It involves characters. Storylines. And progressing said storyline. You are thinking of cybering. Which has nothing to do with ERP.

I'm headin got TC as it will have the most people there at the start. Hopefully stays there.

My guild, the Gaslight Explorers League will be on Ehmry Bay. We're a casual RP group that is mostly PvE and Exploration focused, and we're all about hilarity and ridiculous fun.

Please don't join Maguuma. We prefer to be on a server with people that are at least able to spell properly.

As an RPer I second this. Every RP community I've joined from WoW to Champions to City of Heroes to SWTOR has been full of terrible people with terrible egos doing terrible things. Please keep your RP 'community' on Tarnished Coast, and away from Maguuma.

Its going to happen, sooner or later.  No reason to be on such a high horse, my friend.  It's not your place to govern player distribution. Best learn to ignore and adapt than cause a fuss.

(Don't care that this is necro but I couldn't let this kid get away with spouting his insulting ignorance since this is one of the top links when googling LGBT friendly guilds for GW2 and no one else is bothering to correct him.)

LGBT are not perverts like you seem to be trying to make us out to be by putting us in the same group as ERPers. Do not smear the LGBT name for people that that don't even know what it is, and educate yourself on LGBT so you don't become some ignorant hatemonger trash like you're definitly on the road to becoming.

If you left the server because you hate LGBT people then fine, that's one less bigoted hatemoner herassing that server, but next time how about asking to join their guild to see what they're like first rather than just calling them perverts without knowing a thing about them; Spoiler Alert, they are just like everyone else!

I'm not sure how the population is currently on my server, but I'm in 'Sea of Sorrows' and we could use some more active roleplayers. It's too quiet and makes people like me too shy to ask if anyone does that kind of stuff on our server. We might be a mid-high population server, and it's become the unoffical Aulstralian server despite it being labeled for Americans. But I guess that's why were awesome in WvW!

In anycase, I hope you find the right server for what your looking for!

Personally I'm looking to switch to a world with more RP myself. I chose Borlis Pass at first because I assumed I could find at least one little pocket of RP on any world. I'm trying to go to this Tarnished Coast everyone is going on about but it's always full. If anyone can sway me to join a different world for RP though I may be inclined to join.
