When I enter my GW1 character names into HoM, I get an error...
Is anyone else getting this issue?

Guild Wars is undergoing maintenance at the moment, so the website cannot retrieve the data. :)

is there a way to check if your GW1 and GW2 accounts are linked

If they are linked, the accountname and the password are the same for both GW1 and GW2 accounts.
You can change the password to one and login to the other if you want to be extra sure.

Glad you posted this.  My GW1 account was an old e-mail I no longer have access to, and I was forced to use it for the Betas.  Then last night's ST they forced me to update it to my current one.
I was scared to death they deleted my existing account with the change.

I will rage with insanity if they had done that.
