Hi Guru,

I want to play a charr elementalist as one of my characters but can't decide on a legion, because none of them fits the elementalist, imo.

Iron legion? The trademark of iron are heavy warriors, rifles and shields. The iron legion would fit a heavy armor charr or an engineer.

Ash legion? The ash legion stands for stealth, information and infiltration. A thief, mesmer or borderline ranger would fit this legion.

Blood legion? Blood is known for their fearsome melee fighters. Again heavy armor charr also ranger and necromancers would fit the blood legion imo.

So what legion is your charr elementalist part of and why did you choose that legion?

Easily the blood legion.  Blood is known for its fearsome fighters, melee or not.  First of all dual dagger builds are the exact description of fearsome melee fighters, second I associate fire as a bloodthirsty combat magic and earth as a heavy armor type of element.

Its really up to you to decide.

If you're more of a "go all out crazy" on your opponent, and regardless of numbers or position you always feel unmatched in battle as you know your strength and how capable you truly are, than you're definitely a Blood Legion soldier.

If on the other hand you rather pick your fights, assess the situation at hand, and finally make your move, being more or less unseen or unheard as you're the one who has the least presence in a fight, but has the biggest impact, then be proud to be of the Ash Legion.

If the so much praised versatility comes into play for anything then this definitely would be one of the things.
You can be very stealthy and quick with an elementalist, you can be hard and sturdy, you can be Bursty and strong.

I Honestly think there should be a Flame Legion option with another personal story. It would have been hard for them to make, so I see why they didnt do it, but they made it so that any race can be any class. Currently it is hard for a Charr to be a spellcaster.

I think it's kinda supposed to be - you can play a spellcaster but you're an oddball. Although mesmers and necromancers seem reasonably common in Ash, and guardians in Iron (the generic "Iron Legion Soldier" NPCs tend to be guardians, and the "Ash Legion Spy" NPCs use the necromancer life-stealing graphic at the very least...).

Still, you cna come up with explanations for an elementalist in pretty much any. For Blood, it's close support of the troops that's better at keeping up with the troops than a cannon or a field hospital. For Ash, it's the above plus a source of making things go boom that's more concealable than a bomb. Iron is more likely to rely on industry... but when you think about it, there are a lot of ways in which having someone around who can manipulate the elements might serve to make industry just that much smoother...
