Frankly it was about time they announced it, I always thought it would have been a huge mistake to just do the F2P MMO and not to make a sequel after the first one was such a great success, and looks like Runic guys thought the same way :D

So, hmm... some great hack-and-slash games on the front. Torchlight 2, Diablo III, Torchlight MMO.. phew, I will just have to play them all. xD
And Syl is present again. I hope she will be less of a wuss this time... xD
And hmm.. Again, I hope the retirement system grants better bonuses. Since what it really does is decreases the level requirment and increases a stat, and can do that up to 10 times. So, it can get really tedious if you want some last tier items on your starter characters right away. That is why people mostly heirloom trinkets...
And fishing again! :D I wonder will items such as Tangwantegs sockets return, since fishing gets imba with those. :D I was hoping for mining too, though.

This. I've been meaning to buy the first one ever since I played the trial but I unfortunately have been putting it off for other games. :( I definitely need to get on that.

No changes in the graphics engine though. But the environments and mobs do seem a lot more interesting. :)

Only thing I was never crazy about was the balancing. Even on the harder difficulties you could get through entire levels simply by spamming one ability because the mobs are dumb as dirt.

Someone asked the devs if they'd have a better story for Torchlight 2, and their response was, "we've actually hired a writer this time!" :D

Same. Couldn't play anymore around level 30. Still, lasted longer than Diablo 2 which I unsinstalled after first dungeon... or maybe I didn't even finish that dungeon?
Fun game nevertheless.

While I didn't play the first Torchlight, I'm definately going to try out T2 with some friends. I'm not going in with high hopes, I'm pretty neutral as of right now. If it can hold us playing it for a night or two, that's great.
