Hell yes!

http://www.torchlight2game.com/

Frankly it was about time they announced it, I always thought it would have been a huge mistake to just do the F2P MMO and not to make a sequel after the first one was such a great success, and looks like Runic guys thought the same way :D

I might play it with the new coop. I hardly ever play games alone.

Hmm, I didn't like the first Torchlight so much, but I might try this one out depending on the classes..

Ah, awesome. I am still playing the first part and having a blast with it (almost got my Vanquisher on lvl 100 VHHC, and playing with my Destroyer and Alchemist on the same difficulty level), since I just adore good hack-and-slash games. Though, T2 is not Torchlight MMO. Aah, o well, guess I will still have to wait...

So, hmm... some great hack-and-slash games on the front. Torchlight 2, Diablo III, Torchlight MMO.. phew, I will just have to play them all. xD

And Syl is present again. I hope she will be less of a wuss this time... xD

And hmm.. Again, I hope the retirement system grants better bonuses. Since what it really does is decreases the level requirment and increases a stat, and can do that up to 10 times. So, it can get really tedious if you want some last tier items on your starter characters right away. That is why people mostly heirloom trinkets...

And fishing again! :D I wonder will items such as Tangwantegs sockets return, since fishing gets imba with those. :D I was hoping for mining too, though.

Loved the original. It had some really creative mods available for it. Good stuff, that. Looking forward to the sequel, too! :)

This. I've been meaning to buy the first one ever since I played the trial but I unfortunately have been putting it off for other games. :( I definitely need to get on that.

To get to Ordrak - last badass boss, on VHHC (Very Hard Hardcore) it took me about 15 hours, and got my character at around level 30. For the next 15 hours, I leveled up to 75. It is a pretty short game. xD And no modding or hacks used, ofc!

I thought the game became less enjoyable as I progressed. A bit too bland/repetitive, not enough variety, etc.

K I have tried it out. Got boring after like the 5-6th quest. That's when I realised the whole game will take place in this stupid underground dungeon.

Uninstalled right away.

^ Ah, nice.

No changes in the graphics engine though. But the environments and mobs do seem a lot more interesting. :)

Yeah, I was impressed with what they did to some of the environments, particularly that brief shot of the dungeons.  The game itself probably doesn't need a new graphic engine because it was never meant to be the prettiest game out there.

Torchlight is about simple being fun.

The first Torchlight was awesome, I'm sure the next one will be even better! Thanks for posting the link, I had totally forgotten about a new one coming out.

Torchlight was great, and despite it's lame storyline it was still a ton of fun. Especially liked the graphics in the first, sort of like Team Fortress 2 what with the gibbing and exploding enemies and the vibrant colors.

Only thing I was never crazy about was the balancing. Even on the harder difficulties you could get through entire levels simply by spamming one ability because the mobs are dumb as dirt.

Someone asked the devs if they'd have a better story for Torchlight 2, and their response was, "we've actually hired a writer this time!" :D

Woohoo, just beat the story mode with my dual sword weilding vanquisher.  Nice game.  I'm ready for the sequel.

Looks like Torchlight 2 is nearing completion. Runic is revealing info through E3, so they'll probably announce a release date then.

Same. Couldn't play anymore around level 30. Still, lasted longer than Diablo 2 which I unsinstalled after first dungeon... or maybe I didn't even finish that dungeon?

Fun game nevertheless.

Thanks for the update batman. :)

While I didn't play the first Torchlight, I'm definately going to try out T2 with some friends. I'm not going in with high hopes, I'm pretty neutral as of right now. If it can hold us playing it for a night or two, that's great.

Wow that game looks awesome.  Anyone else get a diablo 1 vibe from the music and starting town in that video?  (aside from the fact that its the same style as diablo).  Either way looks like a fun game.
