Yep, Tried 2 different graphics cards and no resolve. A ati radeon 5700 and a nvidia geforce msi 570. Tried every setting, just tried 2 fixes and neither have worked.

intel core 2 6600@2.4ghz
4 gigs of ram
amd radeon 6800
this is the reply i've been sending them.
"this happens during every session, in-game triggers are seemingly random. has happened while spvp, opvp, pve. while not in a menu, while in a menu. while looking around, while moving, while still.
the screen just goes black and i can move the mouse (still has ingame cursor),i have sound, no other video aside from mouse, no signal that I'm actually doing anything. i can press f11, f12 and have menu's come up. f11 menu actually works, the f12 menu doesn't do anything when i click on stuff (log out, char select, cancel). i have to alt tab and close, or altctrl deleteandclose. whatisgoing on"

have you tried updating the drivers to the latest beta version? check out your card on the site and see what they have. I hear that helps some people as well. I'm a little weary of beta drivers to begin with, but as long as you have a backup there's normally no problems.

I'm at my wits end on this!
Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard Company
Model: a6228x
Processor: AMD Athlon™ 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 5200+ 2.60 GHz
Memory: 6.00 GB
System type: 32-bit OS
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Display Device: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT
I'd appreciate any suggestions, but I'm wondering why so many people are having the same problem and if ArenaNet itsself cannot do something to help everyone experiencing this?

I purchased a new video card that upgraded mine altho not the top of the line, but it's a decent cost and it seems to have solved the problem and I can play Guild Wars again. I got the Nvidia GeForce 520 from Staples for $59.99 on sale, and it's only $69.99 regular price. I was advised that Guild Wars seems to be running better on Nvidia cards for some reason so I stuck with them and lo and behold - no more black screen! Undoubtedly Guild Wars has so much content that it takes a better graphics card on so many of our computers that just can't handle it and ergo we get the black screen. My suggestion to all who have this problem is to try this card or a comparative one and upgrade what you have and I'd bet it solves your problem, too!
