i was wondering if it was possible to display my characters in their PvP gear rather than their pve gear on character selection screen? i play PvP exclusivley and it's kind of sad to logg in and see the crappy lvl 2 gear from pve rather than my epic tournament pvp set lol.

Well, not in that sense.
However, you can get skins in PvE that are similar/identical to PvP skins.
If you have access to HoM rewards, the heritage skins are attractive enough, reskin the default armour to that.
