So i spent $10 on Gems to turn it into gold so i could get a head start with our guild.  when i went to the guild representative to get them i bought some IP but the IP never showed and the gold was gone.  Is this common issue?  is there a way to be refunded?  i filed a bug report...but i just wasted $10.

Submitted a ticket a long time ago, i understand mistakes happen but Arenanet is basicly telling me im screwed, so in other words, they are stealing my money pretty much.  good job guys, I was planning to buy more gems in the future, but the lack of fixing the error in some way or fashion make me lose respect and trust in this company.

I remember that at some point all the guild NPCs were bugged. NCSoft has pretty crappy support. I think Anet developers they don't really work as game support. I think its NCSoft who creates very bad reputation for GW2 with their poor customer support.

yea, i never had this issue but there were alot of issues with guilds. There are still some and this might be one, and Anet is really flooded with tickets ATM. Took them two weeks to respond to a ticket of mine about gems, but they eventually did and made everything right.

When you go to those guild vendors you buy books that are worth X amount of influence points. Make sure that you actually used the book that got placed in your inventory. Also remember that influence is server bound. Technically your guild exists on all servers but if you earn influence on one server and then transfer to another, your influence doesn't transfer with you.

and Reanor, Anet has amazing customer support, they just don't have enough of it. I've never encountered a game company that cares this much about their players. Please don't forget that 1million people prepurchased the game and they've hit over 2million sales atm. I'd estimate at least 90% of those 2million players have sent in a support ticket at least once, sometimes multiple times. When you have that many tickets coming in of course it will take them awhile to answer.

  As to not having any game developers answering tickets.... wouldn't you rather have the developers developing more content as opposed to spending weeks answering hundreds of thousands of support tickets? Also, don't forget that big game production companies, like Anet, generally have different teams for different things. Customer Support, Concept artists, music developers, landscape designers, etc etc etc.

I am fully aware of the how the books work, it was purchased and used, and have been on the same server since i started.

I have had no issues with getting replys...i have about 10 responces saying the same thing in different worded fashion, we can not refund you in any way...

Okay i was not aware that NCsoft was doing the customer service, I'm not upset that a mistake was made and im not upset at the bug, im upset that i'm being ripped off, stollen from, and not being supported.  I spent actual money.  There is no excuse for this, this is a serious concern for a big company like this, to let players get ripped off like this.

ArenaNet needs to figure out something better for their lack of customer service.

No excuse, A refund of some sort should be given, without a question.

Hm, maybe tell them you don't want a refund you just want the proper influence points added (if you haven't already done so). It could be you used the book during one of the rough patches when it didn't count people as representing a guild, as to that I have no idea =/ I think they're more receptive to the idea of giving back something as opposed to getting a refund. If that hasn't worked then I have no idea but it is pretty shitty =/

Support basically lie, they told me they could not replace in game items lost due to in game bugs......yet other players got them replaced. It's pure bullshit.

Yes they stole your money.
