the trading between gems and gold is to curb gold sellers.
not having a trade option will not stop gold sellers at all, they'll just use the mail service. and we already discussed that it's just as easy to track transactions.

I would very much like dueling to be enabled in ALL areas. I would love to duel a friend or two while waiting for a dynamic event to start up.
Additionally it would be fun to do in guild halls when they're implemented. I could even host a silly 1v1 tourny.

On a different note: I agree, those who are willing to spend money on gems will become super rich in game. thats fine by me so long as there's no actual ingame advantage aside from just more money, or leveling purposes (like getting an I win button for pvp). however, what i like most about that system isnt the stop gold sellers thing, but it allows people who cannot or won't buy gems another option to get gems, that way there isn't an overarching advantage for any of those willing to pay and those who arent. I remember when Nexon came out with this for Maplestory (yes i admit it, i used to play MS years ago). It used to be terrible that some items in that game actually did give somewhat advantages to players (K-mmo), however when they made it available to sell in game items for NX (nexon cash) it alleviated the issue completely. though for the non payers it is harder to obtain NX/gems, but the possiblity to gain them without paying is still there and that's pretty neat.

In all seriousness, disappointed none of this has been implemented in the Nov. 15th patch.
