Hi,
today i was monitoring cpu/gpu usage ingame and I noticed that in WvW mass pvp the gpu usage drops to 30-40%, while elsewhere it's like 80%+. CPU usage is standard I guess (70%+ all the time, 90%+ in crowded areas ). I'm no IT specialist so I'm just wondering if it's normal/ have anyone experienced this too? I just found that quite weird.
I have average of 30 FPS, with drops to ~10 FPS in WvW mass fights (low-medium auto select), which I guess is acceptable according to my configuration. It's just that GPU usage I'm wondering.
lenovo idepad y550

4GB RAM DDR3
win7 x64
newest nvidia beta drivers

This is something that more and more people are noticing - neither the CPU or the GPU usage is anywhere near 100%, even though fps is in the low digits. It seems as if there's something "invisible" bottlenecking the performance for some players. I'm on a much beefier rig than you, a i7-860 @ 3.6Ghz and GTX670OC, but still I run around with 15-25 fps in bigger fights, while even then the CPU and GPU usage hovers around 50-60%. Doesn't make much sense, I haven't seen any other game behave like this.

My rig:
Win7
Intel i5 2500K @4.5GHz
Geforce GTX 680 Overlocked
8 GB 1333 Ram
120 GB SSD
Nvidia 3D Vision 2
Guild Wars 2 was unplayable,.. low fps (15-60) and when i turned the camera around it was just pain in my eyes. (14-30)
Problem:
I did run the DDR in Single Channel Mode.
Fix:
I reinstalled my Ram for Dual Channel Mode.
(if u use a ramkit like me with 2x 4GB, dont install them in slot 1 and 2, install them into slot 1 and slot 3 to get them running in dual channel mode, or just take a look in your motherboards manual.)
Now i run it with all settings on high with 60-120 fps in 2D Mode.
3D Mode runs now perfect too
Hope it works for you too
