I have been testing Writ of the Merciful's application with symbol of wrath, but I don't see any healing from it.  Has anyone else tried and seen if this actually works?

Granted I havent' tested it during a fight, but I was trying to see how much it healed for, but no numbers come up when I use any symbol.

Has anyone had success making this trait work?

It works with Symbol of Faith and Symbol of Swiftness.

You must be in a fight for it to work as I'm pretty sure it will only show the heal if you dont have 100% HP.

Agreed, you can't see any healing gain unless you are under 100% health.

I find the heal is a bit low.  Ticks for something like 40-60 per second, now granted any heal is better than no heal, but it does seem to be a bit pointless.  It does however wok for all symbols, including hammers 3rd attack which is handy,

Here's what I discovered.

It gives the same amount of healing that you get from the 2s extra of Writ of Persistence if you're using Symbol of Faith.
The difference is that 2s longer symbol equals more AoE damage and more combo field usage, so I prefer to stick to Persistence when maining a Mace.

Merciful is useful if you want to use Symbol of Wrath / Protection instead/along with Symbol of Faith, so you still heal regardless of what symbol you use.
For instance if you go with Wrath to get wirling combo finisher to cleanse conditions, then Merciful is more interesting.

I wish we could take both :D

This ^.

Personally I wish it healed in a way other then applying regeneration. Because by having it apply regeneration it overrides the symbol of faith heal.

Maybe at some point they could change it so it causes symbols to pulse an instant heal to any ally within their area of effect.

That's not true at all. Writ of the merciful doesn't heal through regeneration. It's simply direct healing.

Really ? They must have changed it from when I tried it in the beta then.

When I tried it in the beta it simply applied a 2 second regeneration per pule.

Nope it's in additon to your regeneration talent.  I tested it myself.  So with mace you get two heals.

with +300 healing, it heals for 130 per tick.
(520 health over a the full duration of symbol of protection)
Know its an old topic but didn't see any clear answers. Not sure how much it heals without 300 healing.

It's direct heal. Not Regeneration. So if you were able to apply Symbol of Faith and Wrath at the same time, it's actually an insane heal burst.
