after you find the vista in the bonerattler caverns , you can actually continue , there's a clear path made to some random platform with a bomb on it. It feels much like the pirate puzzle where you can also continue past the vista, although the place seems to be empty at the moment.

So

1) Either anet is trolling us by creating paths to nothing at all
2) Future content !

What do you guys think?

THere's just the way you came up for that , it's not a jumping vista at all , just a clear way down , and the way to the platform is not a clear way down

That type of bomb is find in a few places , It's nothing special really just one of those bundles.

I did another vista like this in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. And just like this one, there's an "exit only" path from the vista back to the ground level which is, while somewhat redundant, a faster way down than going back the way you came, while being safer than just base jumping off the ledge.

That's all this is, a fast and safe way down.

Just found this too, OP, and had to do a Google search.

Seems rather tantalizing to be nothing at all, especially when you can simply jump down from the platform before the wooden planks crossing to the other side.

I also find this strange. Me and my friend tried carrying the bomb far away, into the little bandit hideout that has an impassable door, but it didn't work. Shame.

Can't seem to find a use for this bomb. I hope they add something in or somebody finds what we're missing.

Its just a platform. There's plenty of platforms in the game and there are plenty of paths to nothing. Its like saying "ZOMG THERE IS A WATERY AREA UNDER KOHLER IN AC!!!! FUTURE CONTENT!!!". No. Its just there if you fall down. Its part of the scenery in the dungeon.

If you want to see where the "future content" can show up, look at the multiple blocked/hidden zone entrances instead.

And I am still awaiting the content update that will open the door to Fort Vandal. I want to take the entire guild there, but I'm afraid 50 people wont be enough to breach its defenses

The area seems a bit lore weak to justify a relevant dungeon that could be added and I doubt it will ever lead to some kind of new map (this location borders on Queensdale and Gendarren Fields) but it could easily be a future jumping puzzle. They have added jumping puzzles to existing areas in the past, so it's possible they will add a destructable wall which will unlock a new jumping puzzle as a result. I agree this bomb is really random and is either unfinished/future content or a red herring.

yeah actually this happend quite often in GW1. that was the great thing about it. you would explore and you would always find these mysterious locations, "historical monuments," NPC's, and events(not GW2 events).

If you want to see hints of "future content" look at the map West of Lion's Arch. Biggest hint Tengu will become playable is right there.

There's plenty of areas like that which can lead to possible future content. It's just an easy way for game developers, like ANet, to leave options open to themselves if they want to do something there later. If they don't want to make something there, it's fine; if they do, they have that little hook already in place.

Lion's Arch has a road that leads southwest. Sparkfly Fen has a road that leads west, initially I thought it would connect to Southsun, but it did not, which means there will be another zone there in the future.

Just normal design accounting for growth. I expect almost all of the Tyria map will be exposed at some point.

There is a clear path leading to Crystal Desert blocked by some random out of place boulders and metal scraps in high level asura area, the one with lvl80 dungeon, bottom right side. But thats nothing new, they already said they'll be adding it later on.

How about the obvious Desert Gate in the Field of Ruins? You know, where the guards tell you it's too dangerous...right now. Oh wait, none of you have probably ever been in that zone. There are quite a few obvious expansion areas, some of which are blocked off by the equivalent of scaffolding.

Just a bomb. Maybe unfinished junk not removed by the dev who was planning to do something with that bomb and forgot. Nothing new incoming, disillude yourself. There are some other junk unfinished areas where players can access, like the AC unfinished jumping puzzle.
Just crappy design, not removing sandbox areas. I wish it was at least an easter egg with something particular, watching your video. Instead, as expected, just junk.
Post it on main forum, maybe the dev who was working on it will remember what the hell was planning to do with that bomb, or just remove it.

I found this too but I fail to see how this can be anything significant. The vista is in the middle of the map so unless they were going to add a boss there or something..... That would still be really really insignificant.

Maybe it is an easter egg.  In Guild Wars 1 there were plenty of places where you could put dwarven powder kegs to destroy walls.  Maybe there is a destructible wall somewhere in the caverns that you need a bomb to destroy for you.  Could be any unmarked wall, especially if it really is an easter egg.

The Crystal Desert,The Far Shiverpeaks, D' Allesio Seaboard (or whatever name the land West of LA is called by now), The Dominion of Winds, The Ancient Dwarflands (Deldrimor Front), Depths of Tyria, Blood Legion Homelands, Ring of Fire,Maguuma Wastes,The Falls,The Woodland cascades ,Scavenger's Causeway, and Isles of Janthir.

The Dominion of Winds will most likely be before a return to Cantha (if we get that far) and we may have a separate mission dealing with the Elon River and it's Dam if we return to Elona.

Honestly I would put Ring of Fire, Maguuma Wastes and The Falls wayyyyy earlier on the list. They're a lot more likely than the Depths of Tyria or the Blood Legion Homelands (in my opinion).

Also, pretty sure that if you pay attention to the walls we can see in game D'Allesio Seaboard is actually part of the Dominion of Winds, which I would actually think might be one of the first things they would release.

As to the OP.
I've been to that specific area, the platform with the bomb is away from the edge of the map, as in... you go to the edge of the map to get the vista and then head back north to that platform... It definitely isn't anything of import.
If you want to start throwing random areas around, go into Harathi Hinterlands, in the north-east of the map you can jump up some platforms and head up into Centaur huts that exist inside map fog - as in, are off the map. Yet that too is just a random area left over from Anets map creating.
